Thanks Santosh. Infact it was worth the money spent it seems. He is very satisfied with the job from Karlsson. He went for a long trip where he had slept in car for a couple of hours and it was very comfortable. Main advantage is pure leather wont make you to sweat. I had seen a rapid with karlsson leather some time back and seen some wrinkles in the front seat. And Other disadvantage is if the car is not used for some time and when u open it later, it smells very bad(Can be avoided using a good perfume though)

Re: Leather Car upholstery - Karlsson (Bangalore)

Can anyone please tell me what would be the price for a leather wrap for the Nissan Sunny's steering in the same colour as the steering ? Also how is the quality of the leather because I also want the door pads to be done in leather. And how are the dealers ? Are they good, satisfactory or bad.

Cheers,

Achyuth

Only steering will cost you around 2.5k , but if you go for the door pads also, the whole stuff will cost around 5-6k .
Cheers

Re: Leather Car upholstery - Karlsson (Bangalore)

Dear BHPians

Decided to take the plunge. Decided to get new upholstery for my ride.

The material picked was scandinavian 1.5mm leather

It has come out pretty well

Sajith was a great person to work with. Wonderful would definitely recommend him to my friends

Thanks for the gift too

Re: Leather Car upholstery - Karlsson (Bangalore)

Folks,got my new Etios Karlsson'ed'

Went for the 1.5mm Scandinavian leather.Had a choice between beige and this new "baltic" variant which mr. Sajith said was exclusive to their brand. He told me he's only done up a Skoda Rapid's interiors with this colour and highly recommended this variant for the 'exclusivity',easy maitainance and because it matched the interiors of the Etios.

Total cost for the seats and the door trims INR35,000/-.He quoted 36grand but i was able to swipe one off him.
Needless to say,the gentleman is terrific to work with,my advice is to take his suggestions when making a decision on the leather material and the designs.Workmanship is top-grade,but given the price, this is to be expected.Posting some pics of the interiors.

Nishath, those seats look absolutely gorgeous. The colour is just delicious and the finish looks impeccable. It really really increases the plushness and luxury feeling in the Etios cabing. The colour matches perfectly.

Excellent choice!

Nop, no presence anywhere outside Bangalore. I did speak to them about it for Pune and they were like sorry we would love to do your job provided you were in bangalore :(.

Do call them though, and let us know if things have changed.

Hi Dr.Nishath & speed kills, the leather upholstery job looks OE spec !, very good looking. The Baltic grey on the Etios looks great- very subtle and elegant. Can you post photos of the rear side of the front seats? This is one area neglected by most upholsterers. The rear side of the driver and passenger seats look good only when the upholstery is tight, and flawless. This is where custom upholstery looks better than readily available seat covers. Any sagging, loose fitment, improper stitching or badly stitched door pockets could ruin the ambience inside the car IMO.
