Everything is fine, except the steering grip. I wanted a complete wrap, but the guy (Santosh) said it was not possible for a Punto. I know that is not so, as I have seen one right here on T-bhp directory. I wish he could have told me that before completing the job. Otherwise, I am pretty much satisfied with the job.

The photos are in my ownership thread here : http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/test-d...ml#post2251543

Oh I remember having a discussion on similar lines too. I got the oem steering leather replaced for my palio since it started turning green and cracking at Stanley long back and they did a full wrap. I was looking at some carbon fibre finish leather at Karlsson and they said it is very stiff and can't be stretched etc

Re: Leather Car upholstery - Karlsson (Bangalore)

I recently got the leather seats done from Karlsson. The quality, fit and finish of the work was very good. I am completely satisfied with the work they have done.

I was planning for this upholstery for quite some time and finally decided to get this done from Karlsson. Mr. Sajith from Karlsson explained clearly on the options available and suggested for the 1.5 mm Scandinavian Leather. I decided on the Biege. The work was done on 12th November and completed in a day.

Here are few snaps.

Hi Ramesh, thanks a lot for sharing the pictures. They look smashing. Can you share the cost details for the complete job in your Linea? I'm also planning to go in for Karlsson for my Linea and Palio as well.

Re: Leather Car upholstery - Karlsson (Bangalore)

Got the door pads & steering wheel cover done at Karlsson yesterday. The work was really good specially the steering wrap which is just perfect. It took half a day and costed 4800 for the Manza. I went with the Scandinavian 1.5mm thickness leather "Midnight Black" to prevent the dirt from getting stuck on the fiber door pads which the company had provided. The leather ones were attached on top of the stock ones as the stock ones are molded into the door and cannot be removed.

Small Gift: A Key chain in Leather.

Here are some finished pics.

Beautiful!

The steering is just perfect! Even the door trims matches perfectly with the jet black plastic on top! Did you get the seats done as well/ postponed it for later?

Yes, the workmanship is excellent. I love the grip - it is hand stitched - on my steering in my scorpio. It now one year since I got the seats done in Karlsson - I have done 40K KMs alredy - and the seats look new. I have posted pictures of my car in the thread earlier.

@motomaverick: Nice work there. Karlsson does a great job not only with car, but with sofa sets too. I got my ANHC done sometime in Jun/Jul there and they came out very good (can view the pics in my garage). The leather key gift is very cute as well. Congrats

Re: Leather Car upholstery - Karlsson (Bangalore)

I got leather steering for my Baleno at Karlsson. Got this done sometime in August 2010 - managed to take the pics only today

Steering:

Stitch:

So far, the soft leather feel is a pure pleasure to drive and the stitching is holding very well too (for some strange reason i was apprehensive about the stitching holding for a long time).

Have been wanting to get the same done on wifey's Beat, time hasn't permitted yet! Went to Karlsson sometime in June to 'fix' an appointment and haven't managed to 'find' time since then.. LOL

I totally agree with you, the feel of the steering is something else. When you get used to it, driving a car without leather feels.. wierd (for want of a better word)

Re: Leather Car upholstery - Karlsson (Bangalore)

She got dressed up with 1.5mm Scandinavian Leather from Karlsson Bangalore just for 30k. Comparing to other well known major Brand, they are quoting 45k for the same Scandinavian 1.5mm thickness leather.

take a look at the pictures below.
