Re: Exterior and Interior Detailing for Cars and Bikes : Ultimate Detailerz (Bangalore)

Waking up this thread.

Anybody done Ceramic coating for an SUV from UD recently? How's the effect, any reviews which can be shared?

Any other options available for ceramic coating other than UD. I can see lot of providers, which ones are safer and effective?

The car in question here is Tata Harrier - White colour.

Re: Exterior and Interior Detailing for Cars and Bikes : Ultimate Detailerz (Bangalore)

I have been following Ultimate Detailerz almost since the time they started, a decade ago. The fact that they are not a regular business, they're more of a passion for educating and guiding people on detailing makes me trust them with my cars.

When it came to handing over my new ride for detailing, I had no hesitation to contact them and take advice on what would be the best solution for me.
Unlike the other players in the market, there was no marketing push or sales pitch. Mohsin explained all the options and I decided that the hybrid approach was best for me with ceramic coating for non-critical areas and PPF for the most critical parts.

In the PPF world, there are multiple options but when the owner himself applies a certain product on his own cars, the trust factor is higher and I chose the signature Series PPF which is sourced by them and used for many years on a lot of cars.

It took 2 full days of work, they focus on one work at a time and you get all the time and attention for your car. I was explained all the steps and got pictures of the work in progress. Overall I was extremely happy and in a few months, I referred a new E-class in my family to them. This time it was for full PPF and ceramic protection for the leather heavy interiors.

They have a great amount of information on their website for people who are new to the car detailing world, this helped me immensely in deciding the kind of protection I needed for our cars. They also regularly post maintenance videos on YouTube. Overall I'm very satisfied in terms of the quality of work and value for money. Highly recommended!

Re: Exterior and Interior Detailing for Cars and Bikes : Ultimate Detailerz (Bangalore)

The Jimny has a flat table top bonnet which I was struggling to keep clean with bird droppings, tree sap and water spots as engine bay heat would instantly dry the water leaving a spot.

I figured I'd get the bonnet wrapped with PPF since whole car was pointless spending money over for a Jimny.

Called Moshin and scheduled a visit and I got Carpro Immortal PPF for the bonnet. Carpro have recently launched their PPF and I was curious to give it a try.

My BMW is running Stek PPF and I wanted to try Carpro just for a comparison.

Ended up buying a bunch of Carpro products as well. My go to waterless wash solution remains Ech2O after trying various products, there's nothing that comes close to this.

I took only one pic during the PPF and after the PPF you can't even make out its wrapped so was pointless. lol.

Fellow mod Suhaas307 came along with me and got his BMW interior restored as well as wash and wax.

V90 - Ultimate Detailerz (Bangalore)

When looking at option to PPF or ceramic coat my V90, looked at lot of options and zeroed on Ceramic at UD, as I did not get the same confidence anywhere else.

They took almost 3 days and the attention detail was almost OCD level!

Final result, always a challenge to showcase on a white car, is this. The last pic is a before and after comparison.

Re: Exterior and Interior Detailing for Cars and Bikes : Ultimate Detailerz (Bangalore)

Posting a mid to Longish term review of Ultimate Detailerz.* *I've had two major installations from them for my XUV 700.* Stek PPF installation*a year and half*ago and*Heat-shield window films installed in April this*year. I am very happy with both of these installations.

Bangalore has had a hotter than usual summer this year.* Northwestern India, where I frequently drive, was turned into a furnace as well.* XUV700 has large glass window real estate and heat protection provided by Mahindra was.. I should say none.

*Though the cabin was getting hotter, the burning*feeling on my hands and exposed skin was really a problem. I could see clear tanned marks on exposed skin on the long drives.* I did try mesh curtains*for a while but they were too much of a hassle than help.

I was thinking of installing a heat rejection film for some time but was keeping away due to any of the additional*tinting it would add leading to dark film compliance issues with RTO and cops.**
Few friends did recommend 3M CR70 film for the purpose, but many who installed it were not happy with overall heat rejection in peak summer.* This further led to confusion and overall investment for 3M CR30 for XUV 700 was ~50K.

I'd installed PPF (STek) from Ultimate detailerz more than a year and half ago. I was very happy with overall workmanship, product knowledge of installer and compiative cost. They offered carpro's UVX heat rejection window*films which claimed TSER (total solar energy rejection) is highest in class, UV and IR is 99% and warranty is 10 years. Cost was around 20% cheaper than leading brands.*

Finally I bit the bullet and got carpro's UVX70 heat rejection film last April for all the glasses.* As expected, This was a quality installation and* installation*took around half a day.

My overall reaction after 2.5 months and driving 2000 Kms in peak summer in western India,* I should've installed this mulch earlier.* Following are the key observations.

1. Immediate and very noticeable heat reduction in the cabin. My family and co passengers felt a marked difference leading to several guesses why cabin is cooler* (They were not aware of sunfilm installation, leading to second observation)
2. No or negligible*loss* of in cabin*visibility.* one could not notice from inside or outside of the film installation. overall finish is same as any of the highend German car with adequate*tint from OEM
3. No rash, tanning issues on exposed skin which was noticed earlier.
4. I also see there is marked reduction in glare and the cabin is much calmer.
5. AC cools the cabin much faster and I am keeping fan speed 1~2 settings lower.
6. Didn't feel the need for mesh curtains in peak summer.
7. Cost was fairly cheaper than CR70 installation, I find UVX quality at par overall and better in heat rejection compared to competition.

Mohasin and team Ultimate detailers are known for their detailing work, but highly recommend their carpro UVX film and installation as well.

Re: Exterior and Interior Detailing for Cars and Bikes : Ultimate Detailerz (Bangalore)

I picked up a preowned Thar 3 door Petrol AT couple of months back, plan was to get back into fun OTR as well as making it my primary 4 wheeler. Car was pretty clean with a small ding on the front right fender. On day 2 some antisocial element left some nice key marks while the vehicle was parked in front of my residence and that made me realise that the grey colour is a scratch magnet! Now offroading is not really a good thing when it comes to body panels, the shrubs and dried up stems typically leave marks all over the car and then needs a lot of TLC to get them cleaned up. PPF is the only solution and spoke to the super enthu mod Vidyut for who are the right folks to reach out to in my side of town. Prompt came the reply "You remember Mohsin? He is near you, why don't you speak to him?"

Viddy gave me Mohsin's number and left a message with him that I would reach out. Though I know of him for many years, have never met him or interacted with him. Couple of WhatsApp messages later it was decided that I will go with Ultimate Detalierz own brand PPF that is self healing also and full body cover. Mohsin said it will do good for atleast 5 years and I was ok since offroading means some damage is bound to happen even with PPF. Biggest reassurance was when Mohsin said his own car is wrapped using this. He gave me a reasonable quote as part of TeamBHP discount and it was agreed I will leave the car with him for 2 days. Since I had other work lined up it was a tight schedule and Ultimate Detailerz delivered to the timeline.

Car was fully prep detailed, PPF done while carefully removing panels, trims and badges and full body was wrapped. They even did a complete clean up of interiors and did the finer roof and fender flares some clean up and coating. I would rate the work as excellent and am very happy with the job, just that stupid key scars were too deep and could not be cleaned up.

I will let pictures do the talking and would recommend Ultimate Detailerz with a resounding Thumbsup!

Oh and since then my Thar Thaggu 2.0 went straight for mud bath and came back like this. I just sprayed water and got underbody and body cleaned. But happy to report PPF did its job and looks like mint. Will share pics once I do a proper wash.

In the year since, what's been your comparison about Stek vs Carpro - kindly share - I'm evaluating options for my X5 and Jimny.
