Re: American Stars & their Cars The Michael Jackson automobile collection is listed here in the link below. Apart from the controversies that eclipsed his personal life, he has been a phenomenon and he has three generations of fans right since his Jackson Five days since the early 1970's, when his father Joe Jackson made his sons and daughters form the pop group. They had several # 1's before Michael became a solo artist by the late 1970's with his blockbuster album "Off the Wall" in 1979. He never looked back.
Michael Jackson has owned the Sl. Nos. 20 to 7 here in this list. Whereas, there are six of them (# 6 to # 1) that are closely linked to him, either in commercials or in rock videos and so on. The list says "he should have owned" for these six automobiles.
Michael Jackson's choice was quite intriguing and his car sense was appreciable. There's a 2001 Harley Davidson Tourer V2/ 67 bhp with police trims at Sl. No. 14, where his love for two wheelers is also depicted. Out of the glamour and glitter of his celebrity life, it is imperative that he was quite choosy and had a good grasp of the classics. The 1954 Cadillac Fleetwood about which the link says, that this car was used in the movie "Driving Miss Daisy" (1989) and that Michael liked the movie and bought the very car. There's a replica too in the list, that of a 1909 Detamble Model B Roadster. The Montana Carriage Company Electrified Horse-Drawn Carriage is also an interesting entry in the list.
Many of the acquisitions in the list are post the mega hit album "Thriller" (1983), that beat all previous album sales records, selling 31 million copies worldwide. The most interesting choice at # 12 is of the 1985 Mercedes Benz 500 SEL, that was his daily driver for a decade. It was sold for US $ 100,000 at Julien's Auctions "Music Icons" in 2009. https://www.hotcars.com/cars-michael...e-owned-today/
In his later years Michael Jackson was seen in huge black SUV's many a time in the news, that are presumably not featured here.
And a last surprise ! The pop star featured in 1981, in a Suzuki Love scooter commercial, post his "Off the Wall" album and in this video he is seen dancing to the beats of his hit "Don't stop till you get enough" from this 1979 album.
