It is black in colour, now residing in Mysore. It travelled from MP to Hyderabad to Mumbai to Mysore where she is now. This is to the best of my knowledge.

The carrosserie number is too high for the serial number, so it is likely wrong.

Total: 1959!

Today we managed to add 4 more cars to the 404 C Registry. The first one was courtesy of the Facebook page I manage called "Peugeot 404 Registry" and for the moment I only have a photo of the VIN plate:

4499862, Carrosserie 132xx, Cabriolet Carburetor 1967, Noir 1000, Red Leather, Car is at an upholstery shop in Massachusetts awaiting a new soft top from France, SPRINGFIELD MA USA



The other three were found and photographed by my super-helper Hervé C in Lyon France:

4599176, 11378 Coupé Injection 1966, Gris Graphite 1055, Grey Cloth Seats, This car was just sold for around 7500 Euros May2015, and it will be moving to the Paris region for its restoration from the Isère part of the French Alps, ILE DE FRANCE FRANCE



6802646, Carrosserie 16048, Cabriolet Injection 1968, Bleu Clair Métallisé 1158, Black Leather 2000, Hard top, this car will be restored after cannibalising parts from Coupé No. 6802163, ISERE FRANCE



6802163, Carrosserie 15363, Coupé Injection 1968, Bleu Clair Métallisé 1158, Black Vinyl, This car still exists in May 2015 but it will be an organ and body part donor for Cabriolet No. 6802646. Too many Coupés end up this way....and later the owner will sell the ownership papers and manufacturer's plates, so this number could eventually reappear on a VIN-reassigned car...., ISERE FRANCE



Total: 1968 !

That car looks so incredibly beautiful from the rear view in the movie Pushpaka Vimana. I couldn't help but rewind and view that car in that clip all over again.
Surprising that the designers then didn't feel the need to include a rear view mirror on the right door. Being a left hand drive, it would be a nightmare to drive that here without a right RVM.
