At last, there is some news:
This one was submitted a short while ago on the Registry website but it had no photo to accompany it:
4670618, Cabriolet Carburator, 09 April 1968, bought by current owner on 13 September 2006, Noir 1000 with red leather, good condition. Hard top, Jaeger sports instrument panel; the car was a Coupé when it came from the factory. but in the late 1990s the roof was removed and it was changed into a convertible with original parts from another Peugeot 404 convertible. Engine (4cyl injection) and a 5 gear gearbox from the later 504 modells were used in exchange for the original parts, location: FRANKFURT AM MAIN GERMANY
4599165 has probably been scrapped, because its engine now lives inside the Cabriolet number 4590936, and that car is now in France instead of the Netherlands.

4498473, Cabriolet Carburator 1965, bought by current owner on 26 January 1999, Noir 1000, black leather, Hard top, front end is updated to post-1966 type, location: PALM BEACH FLORIDA USA

MRH 5594 was originally my car and yellow in Colour. It had original checkered vinyl upholstery and was carburetted. When it came to me, from Poona, the car had been fitted with a 118NE exhaust. Automech helped me source out the exact design of the exhaust and soon i had a full stainless steel exhaust made as per the company specs. Needless to say the car was another beast performance wise.
I sold this to a dealer in Bangalore many years ago and was told that it was then coloured red. It is good to see that the car is maintained well.
Of the 404 cabriolets this was the ony one which i have seen personally. I have heard of another black one in Bombay, perhaps the same one Harit mentions but have not seen it ever personally.
There is another one which features in the Amitabh, Rekha, Prem Chopra starrer, Do Anjane. It is the car Prem Copra drives. I have a pic of the car which is posted below. That is a West Bengal registration and my car was the same yellow.
Wow, that is great information! Would you be able to contact the owner somehow and ask if he would consent to add his yellow 404 Cabriolet to the Club Registry? I would be happy to recieve this information, by private message if necessary!

Picture appeared in tge Gulf News in the UAE today.

I don't know of it...there remains lots of work to do, to get them all!

I recently acquired, thanks to the State of Oregon USA (and a voluntary tax donation of several tens of dollars) a list of every 404 that has ever been registered there. It's a small list, only 51 cars, of which only 3 are 404C models.
These 404Cs are:
4499041 - a 1965 Cabriolet that is still registered in 2012 - located in Multnomah County Oregon - this is a new one to the Registry
4498661 - a Cabriolet 1965, former location in Oregon: Jackson County Oregon - now in the Turks and Caicos Islands and restored
4596027 - a Cabriolet Injection 1965, formerly registered in Multnomah County Oregon, now restored and living in Miami Florida
Total: 1673 !
