1950 Chevrolet Deluxe - Toronto

I was at a "Cruise Night" last year and saw a few extremely well restored cars that I thought would be a point of reference for restoration.

This Chevy caught my attention and would love to have one just like this one.

Did this body style ever come to India? Fascinating to see the rear door integrated to the rear fender/mug guards.

What are those buttons on the dash for?

Someone else should be able to know if this model came to India.

The vertical row of buttons are for the Radio and would be preset buttons for different stations. The two knobs at the bottom, the left one would be to turn on/off and the right one would be to manually tune the radio.

Re: 1950 Chevrolet Deluxe - Toronto

The Chevrolet Deluxe was available in India, but only in the regular sedan body and not in this "fastback" version.

Apparently two of my father's neighbours in Shantinagar Bangalore owned Chevy Deluxe cars, both in a beautiful pale green original colour like the one in the picture below (taken from the internet). One was owned by a Mr. Isaac who owned a tailoring shop on MG Road. The other was owned by a Mr. Black whose family later migrated to Australia. Neither of them had the radio buttons of john a milne's pictures.

Cheers,
Rahul
