1950 Chevrolet Deluxe Coupe - 437 Original Miles!

A friend sent me this posting of the lowest milage Chevrolet Coupe with three owners and only 437 miles.

Definitely a winner in the Preservation Class!

Great looking.

Too bad the owner doesn't know what she's like to drive. Might as well have bought a house instead of a car.

I somehow don't agree with the concept of buying a car, and then refraining from using it. If you own one, for heaven's sake - go out and drive!

Fantastic and delicious. I agree with GTO on this one, thats why i dont understand the psyche of the "preservation" class. This car is begging to be driven, perhaps long miles in calm and composed stature. I mean thats what it was meant for wasnt it. But full marks for the way shes been kept. Amazing, simply amazing. I have pictures of a 1976 California Mercedes 300D W115 which was sold a while back in Las Vegas. Will find and post here just for your information. This one has 934 original miles on it.
Feast your eyes!!

Re: 1950 Chevrolet Deluxe Coupe - 437 Original Miles!

If we look at the glass, it is pretty evident that the owner might want to brag about 437 miles only as one of the USB. Many collectors also keep it this way to ensure appreciation in terms of value. They are meant only as show-pieces in auto shows and similar. They are treated as pieces of art.

Its more of an investment than sentimental value sometimes + as mentioned it gives the owner enough bragging power when in company of other collectors.

And the car when it was on sale: http://www.chevconnection.com/50chevclubcoupe.htm

Re: Nostalgic automotive pictures including our family's cars

In case anyone is interested in buying a (or 500) New Old Stock Chevys. Even a Corvette pedal car available.

Courtesy Yahoo - "Lambrecht Chevrolet of Pierce, Neb., was like many Midwestern, small-town dealers — owned and operated by a family, with minimal overhead and little need for advertising since most customers were neighbors. Ray and Mildred Lambrecht ran the dealership with just one employee for 50 years before closing up, and later this year the Lambrechts will sell off a trove of 500-odd vehicles they've held onto over the decades — including roughly 50 with less than 10 miles on their odometers. It's less a car sale than a time capsule auction"
