I am surprised there isn't a thread (yet) on this amazing place for motorheads!

For all those who are in Azerbaijan, and to all those who shall be going there, please do visit this amazing museum of museums in Baku!

It is very affordable to include in your excursions, as the ticket cost is 15 Mannats for the museum and then another 10 for the underground classical car collection. I think you may even be able to visit just the car collection without having to buy the main ticket for the seven-level museum. One Mannat is around Rs. 50 INR in July 2024.

I was in awe to see such well-maintained classics, and a Bugatti Veyron for some reason! That car isn't old enough to be categorised with the cars raging from the first Mercedes, all the way to the classic American land yachts.

I did not click too many photos, but I made a stunning 8k video to upload to YouTube. Unfortunately, it isn't being processed to 8K or even 4K like they have on a few of my older videos. Nevertheless, please watch it and be amazed at this find.

Wow! This is an enthusiast's delight. All the cars are in immaculate condition. I'll definitely visit this place if I ever get the opportunity to set foot in Azerbaijan.

It's a good, well kept collection. No doubt.

Every time I see a Veyron I keep wondering - how many Veyrons are there globally? There seems to be one in every museum and in some famous garages all over the world.

Only 450 were made and that also includes the various one offs. So not only a pretty fast car, also pretty rare.

Not sure how many of these are in private hands versus museums.

Damn, I visited the museum last month and had no idea of the underground car collection. There were no signs or directions to indicate its existence.

Azerbaijan very certainly is becoming a hot spot for Indian travellers. The country was full of tourists from India, all summer.

Signage is a big problem there. We successfully entered the main museum on the third try. The previous two doors were locked from within. No signage to state which one is the way in! And the walks from one to the other in bright hot sunlight were weakening

Similarly, two attempts to go to level minus three, but no signage to state which lifts are for servicemen and which for the public.

Very interesting. Seems like Kazakhstan is also getting a lot of Indian Footfall. Good to know.

To be honest, when you went to the ticket purchase counter, there was a sign board stating the costs for tickets to the museum, and for viewing the car collection. Apart from that, not much.
