The UK government has announced that come 18/11/2012, the annual MOT (Ministry of Transport) fitness tests for pre 1960 Classic and Historic vehicles will be abolished. The MOT tests are almost a nightmare and very high standards are set for each old vehicle to pass the test compulsorily, every year.
The official line says "to cut down red tape, that costs the motorists money with no visible significant benefits."
We in India have to produce our vintages and classics for evaluation and fitness once in five years. Even our tests reveal no tangible results especially for vintages and classics. These are maintained exclusively by their owners who always try to keep them in pristine condition.It hardly matters as these run on the roads sparingly.

A US businessman driving a classic Ferrari car worth more than 20 million pounds has been involved in the world's most expensive car crashes ever.
Multi-millionaire Christopher Cox was driving the Ferrari 250 GTO with his wife Ann, who is understood to have suffered a broken leg in the accident in Central France.
Cox was taking part in the 50th anniversary tour of the Ferrari 250 GTO - an Italian sports car dubbed as the 'Picasso of the motoring world.'
The Ferrari, which is one of only 39 ever built, values more than 20 million pounds, the Daily Mail reported

Quality First , the journal of the MCOC proudly includes the Morris Issis owners into the fold. There are a very few Issis' left in the UK and largely in the world.

A traffic scene from the George Washington Bridge from the 1950's. Each car is so different- it was the time when the designer was supreme. Wind tunnels,cd factor, NCAP rating, pollution standards and many more such terms were alien in the automobile lexicon.
