I think Bangalore with its weather is just a boon for cyclists. And while roads arent the best, they are still alright, and the traffic is alright too (relatively speaking). Enjoying the rides so far!

Hello everyone,
Though I got admitted to this forum during last year, I have been only reading the posts and not posted/added anything. I have followed this group for around 4-5 years now and I have immense respect for the knowledge members here have.

Coming to the topic, i have recently taken up cycling and bought a new Decathlon Rockrider St 120. I have been wanting to write about it and there can be no better thread for it than this.
I live in Singrauli (yes, I am associated with CIL & I have seen members of the fraternity in this forum) and in my opinion it is THE place for taking up cycling as a workout, the terrain is full of heavy inclines and has proper trails for an MTB, infact roads here are not at all suited for roadbikes or gravel bikes. We are a group of 4-5 guys who have been cycling daily since the last month and our daily run is around 20 kms, I know it is not much but given the elevation we gain, it seems to be adequate.
Enough of words, let's the pictures do the talking.

Amongst the posted pics, there is a particular pic where in a guy can be seen on a desi jugaadu e-cycle which he has setup in around just Rs 5,000. The pic is self explanatory, it can be seen how easily he has mounted a battery and added a motor to the wheel.

Great average speed. And looking at your start/end points you are located around Mahadevpura. Close to where I'm located.

Rocking thread! I do about 20 odd kms most days of the week around my home town of chitradurga, Sundays doing longer gigs of 40 to 45kms. I'm a novice and started cycling only a month back as I got a very good company. Great terrain and weather nowadays, would love to go to new places as my stamina improves. A few pics from around chitradurga.

P.S.- my friends kid me that I've clicked all pics on the same day as same bike, same mountains and same windmills in all pics, hope you don't feel bombarded

P.PS- I brought the bike almost 8 years back and was mostly kept to hang clothes in the garage, these 2 months have been amazing , great to be in the fresh morning air, the amazing views and my heart rate really is getting below 80s through the day after cycling. The best part is no morning mobile screen exposure. What more could I ask for!

Posting three of my most favorite trips in the Northern California:

1. Cabrillo Highway (CA State Route 1) from Santa Cruz to Pescadero: A magical route to best done on a bicycle at 12 mph. The experience of riding along the Pacific listening to the sound of waves and birds chirping is something out of this world. To top it off, you're greeted with sun, fog, and a refreshingly cool wind.

2. Mt Hamilton Rd (CA State Route 130): The high point of all my bicycle rides was climbing to the tallest point in the Bay Area. Long climb with relatively easy grades. Tips for beginners: Do not start from on Quimby Rd.
