Mirror Lock: Some cars require this to prevent theft of standard wing mirrors.
Can anyone explain this ?? I mean how does it protect\work ?

@Navin: What you have mentioned is more suitable for a long drive & IMHO does not come under accessories for a new car.

p.s you can check out my thread on long drive.

Mirror lock is a metal frame around the mirror housing. The mirrors of the internally adjustable types are very expensive and in mumbai these get stolen pretty often.

This prevents the thief from removing the mirror. He cant get it out as the lock is smaller than the mirror and will not come out.

Post-2002 or sometime in 2003 (don't remember exactly when) the Govt. had made it a mandatory requirement for all new vehicles to be equipped with a Warning Triangle, Spare headlight bulbs & a First-Aid kit. Hence, the reason why some of you got the kits & some did not. No manufacturer can now sell a new vehicle without these.

Must have on the car whether the cheapest , medium or highest range..

1.Medical kit
2.Warning triangle
3.Pair of headlamps
4.heat reflective tints i.e tinted glass
5.Emergency call numbers for all over india.

These are the must in terms of safety and should be made as standard equipments for all the car manufaturers in India.

It’s common feeling in India that once you go through Teflon coating your paint is protected. Right and wrong.
Also to add to Rudras post : My Esteem was coated with Teflon but it obviously wasnt made for our extreme climatic conditions. Parked for the entire day under direct sunlight, the coating on the roof cracked and fragmented. It looked plain horrible! Vitesse did give us a recoat but whats the point?

My Safari is coated with Teflon and is always parked outside ( house and office).. Can someone tell me how to avoid all this.. I dont want to put a body cover as that gathers dust and can cause scratches while putting it on or taking it off the car..

HELP

huh??? Alto doesn't have a quarter glass. other cars like WagonR and Santro you can put the grill on their quarter glass.
