Thanks mate :)

Got the VIN number for our New City. Based on the decoding logic - this was manufactured last month. Makes me really happy. :D

Fresh off the assembly line :)

Note from TBHP Support : VIN number removed.

Thank you ! Mate ..!

Just calculated and my car should be June 2011 manufactured. Will be getting it next week and hope to see that it is a june 2011 car (thanks to wildon). Thanks a lot mate! :thumbs up

I like it when this thread pops up in my subscribed list.
WHY?
Because it means someone has finalized their car, and is moving up to the next level in the buying experience.
Also speaks of the new upcoming ownership threads which will be up soon.
As well as the great time we are going to have on those threads, reading and discussing various aspects of the NEW car.
Way to GO WILDON!
and thanks once again for this lovely thread.

Hi mate,

Can you please take a look at this vin WVWF1160XBTO76931

Thanks a ton!

doxinboy

Can someone decode the month of manufacture for the following Hyundai VIN:
MALCU41DLBM022633

As per Wildon's guide, B at 10th position means 2011 but there is no 19th position to decode month since the VIN is 17 characters long.

Hey Wildon, How're you able to figure out the color from the VIN? Looking at the instructions for decoding Honda VINs, I don't see steps to figure out the color. I do see instructions for the Make, Engine, Variant [E, S, V] and Manufacture Month/Year. Didn't see anything for color. Please enlighten us :)

I just asked my dealer for the VIN No. and got a 17 digit no beginning with:
"MBJB29BT*****9491" Seems they have given me a truncated no. :Frustrati
or does Etios have a different VIN system?

Same here. What the dealer has given me now is a 17 digit chassis number for the new Etios VX I want to buy.

MBJB29BT800019869

Please help. How do I decode this?

Thanks wildon. I thought the fourth character "F" represent the month June, I am happy it is manufactured just a fortnight ago.

I was unable to decode it using the codes on the first page, could you do it for me please?
