Hi Anurag - Did you check under the driver's seat? Is that 17 char too, or does it have a * followed by an alphabet?

Decoded the VIN (digits were K & H) and found that it is a October, 2017 manufactured one (Oven fresh). ;)

Has anyone used the Ford ETIS link recently? Of late it doesn't seem to display as much information as it used to earlier: https://www.etis.ford.com/vehicleRegSelector.do

They are probably having some problem with their database. When I booked my Endeavour in August the website was showing the VIN as Ecosport while other details were same. Let's hope the issue is sorted out to get more details

Kerala Motor Vehicle department has put the following VIN decoding Google play app and PDF document on their website. Attaching both for reference

Need expert input. I'm in the process of booking Ford EcoSport 1.5 automatic. Got the following VIN number: MAJAXXMRKAHG06330 with the promise it is Oct 2017 built vehicle. When I looked upon using the chart I get Aug 2017 as the manufacturing month and when I use etis.ford.com website I get 2013 model. Totally confused. Can anyone guide me to the proper method to verify the VIN for Ford EcoSport.

How can you find out the manufacturing date from the VIN?

I believe the full 19 digit VIN number is etched on the frame below the drivers seat. You'll need to lift the floor mat (there will be small flap) to see it. I dont have a hyundai car myself, but this is what I could see by putting a simple search for "Hyundai 19 digit VIN number" in the T-BHP search box.

11th letter is H. H decodes to a year of 2017.

12th letter is G, which is August.

So August 2017 is correct.

What Ford ETIS shows you as "EcoSport 2013-" indicates that this is the 2013 series of EcoSport, not the manufacture year for your specific EcoSport. Ford appear to have changed the ETIS site and it doesn't appear to show the detailed information we could previously get.

So you'd have to stick to the decoding sheet in the earlier post.

Thanks. It was very easy to find under driver's seat.
The last 2 digits where *J which meant October. The year was 2017.
Given I bought this month itself, I got one manufactured in this month which is good

Dear BHPians,

Seek your help. Its, not for a car though. I hope this partial OT would be considered.

please let me know where to find the chassis number of a Activa (3G, 2016). I need to get the pencil impression of it, for procuring NOC. My wife would be taking it, so a step wise process would be highly appreciated. Couldnt find a more relevant thread.

Please respond.

-Abhishek.

Dear BHPians,
My friend is about to take the delivery of Jeep Compass.
The declared shared the VIN as "MCAAJPCY3JFA06075*9H"
I am not able to decode as per the Article Fiat's section.

Please let someone hint me how to decode the above VIN.
