It says manufactured in December(4th character), 2011 (5th and 6th characters), model year 2012 (10th character).

Build date and manufacturing date are two different things? 11th & 12th character of the VIN are H & J. According to the table its January 2017. But when entered the same VIN number of Ford Etis website, there is only one information which says the build date as Nov 2016.

Yes. as per the VIN, its July 2018. Just curious, what caused the confusion?

Based on decode link, the manufacturing month and year is May 2018. 6th and 10th digit which comes to E and 9 translating to May 2018. Hope this helps.

Can you please help me decode the VIN# of Hyundai Creta SX(O) diesel-
Number is: MALC381ULJM501301.

The thread 1st page says
10th char is year of manufacture, which in this case is 2018.
19th char is month of manufacture. In this case there is no 19th char.. so confused. I used a web portal (https://www.autodna.com/vin-check) to check the VIN. It says it is a Getz from Hyundai :)

EDIT:

When you go for PDI, check the letter after the given VIN. It will be after the "star"

MALC381ULJM501301*letter that will signify the month code.

You're missing 2 more characters at the end, Hyundai VIN should be 19 Characters in length.

10th character indicates year (J = 2018), 19th indicates month A=Jan,etc, so ask them for the additional 2 chars so that you can find out month from 19th character.

Please see the first page on this thread that articulates how to decode the VIN of each manufacturer.

Can anyone help find my old Gypsy Manufacture date?
Chassis Number is MG71IN225873. (I believe this vehicle was made in 2005)

I asked the dealer for the last code. He said he will check and get back.

The correct VIN number is MAJAXXMRKAJP66733. This is a vehicle manufactured in August 2018 (JP). Is it ok to take delivery in Dec 2018 or should he insist on a newer vehicle? Please advice.
