Re: ARTICLE: Find your car's date of manufacture (VIN)

Trying to get the MM/YY from the VIN MBJABBAF301706718 of a friend’s to-be delivered Invicto Zeta+.
But it’s only 17 digits, while the 1st page of this thread says Toyota VINs are 22 digits.
Tried the Maruti too, but 10th & 11th digits don’t make any sense. Anyone ?

For my Maruti Vitara Alpha+, while the VIN starts with Toyota code of MBJ, the Maruti way of 10th (P) & 11th (H) digits translate to Aug2023 which is correct.

In this thread its mentioned that KIA VIN has 19 characters. But looks like nowadays it has only 17 Characters. Only year of Manufacture we can get from that. How to get the month of Manufacture.

Can somebody help me in interpreting the VIN

Yes, it's the Maruti Invicto VIN, but it doesn't cover the manufacturing date. Check with showroom again or request their help to understand the manufacturing date.

It's a 2024 Kia Sonet Petrol Manual.
You will need a 19-digit VIN to determine the month of manufacture. A showroom representative can assist you, or you can find it stamped underneath the driver's seat.

Thanks for that. Yes its Kia Sonet Petrol IMT. But in all the documents including RC Book this 17 digit VIN is mentioned. I will check underneath my drivers seat and update here if there any change there.

The showroom guys say that’s all they have, it’s a new car just off the assembly line, blah blah.

Btw, Nexa says it’s an invalid VIN. Strange.

I had asked him to click a pic of the ID plate fixed on the driverside B-pillar or from inside the bonnet. And he sent me this. The VIN here has 4 more digits (0724) at the end which I guess indicates a July2024 manufacturing date.

Yes, it's an Invicto, manufactured in July 2024.

Best wishes!

Sorry for the late question. I tried https://service.hyundai-motor.com/eu...tiles?siteCd=H

I was able to create the user ID as automotive under France VPN. However, they are asking for 15 euros for a detailed report.

Is this still operational as a free service? Also, do I have to create a user as a fuel cell? or

Do I have to create a user under Finland's VPN to access a free VIN check?

Please let me know. I want a detailed report on my vehicle through VIN.

I just did a quick research and as it stands without any payment there is no option to get the detailed report. Also, I am sceptical whether it will work with 17 17-digit chassis number and India car or not. If anyone knows or has done so recently please confirm.

Thanks in advance.

Hey Dear Friends,

I am finally able to get the vehicle details. Yes it's working for Indian VIN, over different country using free VPN (I have used VPN of France to register and to check as automotive). I had to pay 15 euro for 24 hours.
.

If anyone wants to know please let me know.

I still have time till tomorrow (4th October 2024) 4pm
