This atricle points to the fact that many may knowingly or unknowingly miss this aspect of ensuring the clear maufactured details of the car.

Avinash, it generally takes 4 to 6 days for the dealer to register the car in your name after full payment. The max he should take is a week,no more. It took my dealer 5 days to register my SX4 D.
Hope this helps

Varun

For a car like Civic which sells at least in double digit figures on a monthly basis, it is highly unlikely that a clean car that was manufactured in February was billed in August to start with and has remained unsold till date. There is more than what is being let out.

Further the fact that a Feb manufactured car was not billed by end of March itself is highly ambiguous. Even MUL strives to achieve a zero finished goods stock level at the end of the FY so why would Honda be any different.

Rather than rubbers, battery etc my concern would be with regards to the chassis and power-train integrity. You could explore other deals for 2011 manufactured Civics that the dealers would be keen to sell before the turn of the year.

If you still want to pursue this vehicle ask the dealer to shave off minimum Rupees 2L from the price of the car. If he refuses tell him politely that he can call you if he wants the car to move and walk out and do not be surprised when he calls back. We will take it from there.

Avinash, as I mentioned in my earlier post, we made the payment at 11 AM and the car was registered on the same day and delivered in the evening by 4:30 PM. We got to know the registration number by the evening at 7PM from our SA and got the number plates fixed the next day. We have been told that RC card will reach my friends house within 45 days till then he can use Tax Receipt as the proof for registration.

Thank you, I am trying the same options of remaining silent and saying not interested for the deal. The dealer says the car was un sold only due to the color polished metal which was 2010 color and is now discontinued , the people who saw this along with new urban titanium , white opted for them over this color. Interestingly area sales manager from Honda has also sent me a note that there is no issue and the warranty will start from the date of purchase.... All dealers in Hyderabad that I had enquired say that Honda is only giving them Auto transmission Civic and has kept manual one on hold which may only come in late Jan or Feb 2012.

Nevertheless let me hold and see Wht I ll get to hear from the dealer....

Here's the VIN (It was called chassis no.) I received for my new Vista
MAT611450BPP98118. It was mentioned that the age of the car was 3. When enquired, I was told that it was the number of months from the car's date of manufacture to despatch. The despatch was made from the factory on the 22nd. The vehicle is available for inspection tomorrow.
