Nandish, Is this the Russian/soviet Vin Decode site you refer to? If Yes isnt it better you put the link up so that everyone can refer directly, instead of youo going thru this. We now have over 25000 Mercs in our country.

I have booked for a preowned hyundai GETZ 1.3from Advantage Hyundai showroom and it is a 2005 model and RC book states 10th OCt as registered date. However as per the VIN number below 11th digit says as December?

Please help decode vehicle details for me

11th character of Hyundai VIN represent Manufacturing Plant code
i.e M= Chennai.

Check on the floor under the drivers seat in which you can find a code as MALBT51HR5M018408*J , in that 10th Charactor 5 = Year 2005 and J= September

if the last two characters as BC then its February 2012 manufactured Vehicle.

The following VIN was provided to my friend for his Vento booking:

WVWL11609CT016532

Dealer has mentioned that it's a 2011 vehicle. This seems to be manufactured in November, but year seems to be 2012 (based on the decoding format provided in this thread).

Can you please confirm the manufacturing date of the car and is it possible to get a detailed PDF on the car?
