I am planning to book a 2011 Vento. The VIN: WVWL1160XCT016104. The vendor says it is Dec 2011 model. But your VIN decoder says Nov. However the 10th character is 'C' which translates to 2012 per your VIN decoder.

Please let me know if the model is Nov, 2011?

Got the delivery of my Safari Dicor 2012 today and as per the information provided by you on the staarting of the thread the beast turned out to be Fe 2012 manufactured vehicle.

Thanks Wilden, this really helped me in decoding the Vin and going for the correct model. As there was plenty of yards in the car and it took some time for me to take the decision. I have finalized on the February 2012 vista model.

Hey can you please tell me how to check Nissan Sunny (diesel) VIN? I have booked one and due to lack of time in order to get the delivery before the budget, I may not have time to ask you about it later. Any tips on how can I do the same at the dealer will be of great help. Thanks in advance.

ps: I know the Sunny diesel is a relatively fresh model so I should not bother. But due to this mad rush of getting the car before the budget I am afraid if the dealer might pass on a Demo vehicle to me.

If you can share your VIN it would be grateful as we dont have much Nissan VIN for sampling.

From the available samples we have concluded that ,

10th Character = Year i.e A=2010, B=2011 , C=2012
11th Character = Month 1= Jan, 2= Feb, 3= March, 4= April, 5= May, 6= June, 7= July, 8= August, 9= September, A= October, B= November, C= December.

I can understand it's a 2012 Feb make car from your earlier posts, Am I correct? Is there anything else that can be understood from this number?
