Hello Wildon -

I have just been provided the VIN for a Figo that I booked for my dad.

Looking at the logic that you have provided on the first page, it looks like it is a March 2011 make.

I tried finding the exact details on the other link that you had provided. It does not seem to work for the VIN provided to me.

I would be thankful if you may help me getting more details, before I take the delivery on the 10th or 11th April.

Can you please help me in knowing my car manufacturing date.

As you have described in previous posts my VIN ends with s07 or it might be sO7 similar to the pic that you had uploaded here http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/techni...ml#post2030701 .

From your list I was able to make out that the manufacturing year is 2007 but did not get the month.
I bought the wagon r in sept 2007.

The reason why I am asking is below. I have pasted the whole post below:-

I had a bad experience with mycar pune when i booked my wagon r vxi through them in sept 2007. At that time immobilizer had started coming in all the models of maruti and I had opted for that. my car delivered me the car within 2 weeks after all the loan formalities. I am very particular about car features and was quite curious about what an immobilizer does? So i called up Maruti helpline to know more. They told me that when you start your car there is a yellow light which should glow(besides odometer) in case the car is fitted with immobilizer(not sure if this works now in newer models). I went to try that and no yellow light came on. Then i called up Maruti again to confirm. They asked me my chassis number and next day sent a representative from the regional office to inspect. He said my car didn't have that immobilizer and he confirmed that my car sold me an older make.

Had a lot of problems with that dealer.

Now that I bumped into this thread I am just curious to know what was the real manufacturing date.

Could anyone confirm if Hyundai's VIN is 19 or 17 characters ?. I have a getz that has a VIN which spans 17 characters.

Hyundai VIN consist of 17 Characters as you given above.
Hyundai Chassis number consist of the 17 character VIN plus additional 2 characters which will be look like this MALBB51RLAM247169*L

In that A = 2010 and L= November

In the picture its showing as *B7 i.e B= February and 7 = Year 2007

Here's the VIN number from my Optra that I took delivery of this week -

From Wildon's data, this is a Feb 2011 (BB) vehicle. The 6th & 7th characters are letters in this case. Hope this helps

Based on Wildon's data on the 1st sheet, the 'CMZ' does suggest a March 2011 make.
