Wildon, my friend got this vehicle allocated 10 days back and is waiting for it to arrive in the yard.

He was curious as to how with such high demand, a 4 month old vehicle got allocated. Suspicious as to the vehicle was used for any marketing/display or related purpose, he followed up with Ford Customer care. Ford customer care indicated in a written communication that build of the vehicle (though has a May VIN) was completed in September only and is directly retailed from the plant to the dealer.

Are you aware as to when the VIN is generated? Is it once when the vehicle build is completed and ready for Quality Check / Shipping? Or is it before that, when the build of the vehicle starts.

17 Character known as VIN
19 character known as Chassis number in which you can manually decode the Month and Year
Thank you. We requested for the allocation of a "newer" car and they provided the below VIN. Could you decode this please?

Where did you get these 2 codes from? I too am buying Ertiga ZDi with alloys but mine is claimed to be factory fitted alloys.

Wildon Sir,
My dealer has given me VIN no. DC66690 for EcoSport. I believe other digits will be similar to other Ford vehicles. Can you please decode the date of manufacture. I understand that D & C correspond to 2013 and September.
Thanks.

If you see a page or couple of pages back, Wildon has shared Maruti codes. I just compared it with what my dealer gave as a stock list upon my request(which is also attached in my previous posts a couple of pages back.) I am now interested to know if yours is a L200/100 please share once you get to know as we both can compare.

Production details are not available with me.

If you can give the last 3 Characters the same can be decoded manually.

My dealer hasn't given me this code since he didn't give me such a stock list. Will check if he can give this model no.
By searching on the internet I came to know from http://www.khivrajmotors.co.in/ertiga.htm that L100 is for ZDi with alloys. Which one is yours?
Invoice amount would differ for ZDi with alloys vs ZDi without alloys but fitted with alloys by dealer. Former costs 32k more than ZDi without alloys while later would cost only 26k more, but will show up as accessories charge for a set of 5 alloys. Though costing more, OEM fitment said to be better right?

Thanks Ya, better to get it fitted from factory itself (I feel) and ya, mine is L100.

I must say khivraj site was pretty neat and with useful info unlike many other. Especially their emi calcs with down payment info and discounts, on road price info etc. Then I noticed that the same site is customised for some other dealerships also for ex, Bangalore ones.
