ARTICLE: Find your car's date of manufacture (VIN)

Hi friends, need help urgently. I have been given this VIN NO -MAJHXXMRKHFK01730 for the new Fiesta.
As per the article, it shoul be Feb 15 manufactured. Could somebody please confirm?

But don't congratulate me yet, it's a 4 months old car and I am not taking it. I have asked them to arrange another car for me or cancel the booking if they couldn't.

Very weird that I got a call from Ford Customer Service informing me that it is a May 1st week manufactured car and not Feb. Not sure now, taking the car anyways. Should get delivered in next 3-4 days.

Enter your VIN here to check the date of manufacture of the vehicle. Also, decoding the eleventh and twelfth characters clearly shows that it's a Feb 2015 model.

Same story with my friend here. He has booked one in June, and now the sales turn up with VIN MAJHXXMRKHFK03199- which decodes to Feb 2015. When demanded a PDI, we came to know that the car is in the yard of a different district-300km away. Mind you - we booked the car in a capital city. Now, we have to travel 300 km for the PDI, as they insist that the car will be driven here only after temporary registration (we summarily rejected their offer to drive it here even after temporary registration). What to do? Does anybody smell anything fishy here?

@itsashishsharma, -- did YOu buy the car at last? Please update.

The VIN decodes to Feb 2015 manufactured Ford Fiesta diesel vehicle. Why do you want to accept a Feb 2015 vehicle irrespective of whether the vehicle in good condition or not and that too, you need to travel 300 Kms for a PDI ? You are investing more than 10 lakhs and so, demand a July month vehicle from your city stockyard itself.

Folks - I am in the processing purchasing the Duster AWD and the VIN received from the dealer is MEEHSRCFNF1002874. Could somebody pls confirm the manufacturing month.

Thanks for the confirmation GD. I found this website - http://vindecoder.eu/ online but it doesn't state the month. That's more than 6 months old. Time to check with the dealer.

You can refer our forum itself to decode the VIN and here's the link to decode the Renault VIN ( Decoding VIN for Nissan and Renault vehicles are same).

You have given the incomplete code. The VIN for Maruti are 21 characters.

Yes, It is located behind the drivers side suspension mount. It is put there horizontally.

Check the circled area along with the Yellow arrow:
