The tenth character 'G' denotes the year of manufacture. So, it's a 2016 manufacture vehicle.

Sir,
I guess this is of a Maruti Suzuki.

If it is, then it should have 21 characters, where the 20th character denotes the month of manufacture and 21st character denotes the year of manufacture.
The VIN mentioned in the post has only 17 characters.

The complete VIN (with 21 characters) can be found on the engine firewall.

Yes, it is July 2016 manufactured car. You can confirm the same by cross checking form 22.

I did take some pics of my Brezza yesterday and as far as I can see from these pics, even the 'under the bonnet VIN' does not have the 21 characters your link speaks of.

Just the $ type special character followed by 17 characters ended by the same $ type special character.

Thanks Grand Drive, the vehicle is a Jetta Highline TDi AT. I too was able to get partial decoding on one of the websites and got the attached results. The plant code decodes as "Ingolstadt" see attached pdf.

I always thought that the cars here are coming from Puebla, Mexico.
