How good are Rainbow SLX265 Deluxe compared to the ones mentioned above ?

I saw some threads on Galaxy. Are they on par with works done by Emperor.
Rainbows are sweet sounding, Focal Polyglass are a bit bright, but not harsh or tiring. I have Polyglass in my car and i like the way they sound, they're not harsh or tiring.

A friend of mine was in a similar dilemma when he bought a new Vento, we checked out Parijath (prices were the best there), then i asked him to check out Galaxy and Emperor when he visited Ernakulam. He checked out both of them and decided to get it done at Emperor.

He bought Focal Polyglass 165VB (13k) for the front and Access A1 (11k I guess coz he paid total 24k), components, which imho is not required but he wanted to have them, for the rear and it cost him 24k total with installation. His choices were Tempo 6, Polyglass and Rainbows. When i met him he was satisfied with the installation and the sound. The installation was done retaining the stock Vento HU, but he later upgraded it to a DVD dual DIN unit.

Re: Speaker confusion.

A lot of searching and I got two options, though there mite be more, Focal Polyglass 165 VB in front and Focal Polyglass 165 CVX in rear or Morel Tempo 6" Components in front and Morel Tempo 6" Coax in rear (or is Morel Maximo 6.5" Coax better in rear).

Any previous owners on how much they cost and reviews ?

Would like to power them by an amp but which is the question. Rockford Fostage T400-4 (400W 60 Watts x 4 @ 4-Ohms, 100 Watts x 4 @ 2-Ohms), Rockford Fostage T600-4 (600W 100 Watts x 4 @ 4-Ohms, 150 Watts x 4 @ 2-Ohms), Infinity Reference 475a (75 watts RMS x 4 @ 4 ohms, 90 watts RMS x 4 @ 2 ohms).

Doubts remain what mated to what will sound right. It all depends on the final audition but at-least I will know what to audition.

Re: Speaker confusion.

Whatever be the combination, be sure to take an audition - if possible in the car - before you decide.

Re: Speaker confusion.

Hope to have that done @DerAlte.

Can someone suggest amps that are not pricey yet be equal to these big names.

Polyglass 165VB MRP is 14k thats what you've been quoted.
Looks like the prices you've got are the MRP prices.
I think Morel prices are for Morel maximos.

Focal damping looks expensive, does it cover inner and outer skin of the door?

Over the phone you'll never get good prices. You have to visit and talk.

Well the budget was 35k for the time being .

I am not sure about the damping, if its for both or not.

Made the call since I been there a couple of times. It was a "what should I be ready for" call .

Think I'll call up a few others also and see.

I think he mentioned Morel Tempo when we talked.

Now, can amps be kept as Stage 2 upgrades. Will the HU be enough to power the speakers for the time.

Re: Speaker confusion.

Does HU's play a role in sound productions ? I remember hearing that some HU's are bright than others.

Would an HU be able to power a setup of Focal polyglass 165 VB upfront and Focal polyglass 165 CVX at the rear ?

Yes it does, some sound different to others.

Polyglass can run fine off an HU directly. I have heard a setup where the Polyglass was being powered by stock Vento HU and it was fine. Do not try to push the volume too high without an amp coz it will distort.

Re: Speaker confusion.

Zeroing in on stage one setup: Pioneer DEH 6250BT with Focal polyglass 165 VB and Focal polyglass 165 CVX.

Concerning damping is an only remaining doubt. Focal at 15k, I am sure something will be much lower and equally productive.

How much does this Pioneer cost here? Did a price check on the internet and got to know that its around 13k in NewZealand. If the price here is in the same range i suggest that you consider Kenwood 7016 which falls in the similar price bracket. It doesnt have BT though, if you need BT with SQ look at 8016. I once had X794 (7016) its a very good SQ HU for that much money.

I am not sure of the cost for Pioneer but naveen.raju I believe has one in his Swift. Somewhere around 9K i am to believe. Kenwood 8016 goes way above at 18K and 7016 at 13k (according to search here in Team-BHP). BT would be a good option though considering the fact I would like a Car-PC in near future I am considering whether spending on a HU for BT is required or not. But USB is a must have option.

Yes, I have it in my car. Paid 8k for this(from Dubai) and I have been using it for almost 7-8 months. The BT works really well and the external mic picks up the voice really well. Able to pair upto 5 phones and the directory can be accessed from the HU. USB and Aux also included. Here are some pics
