ICE Upgrade, Finally: My Safari 2.2

Hi!!!

This is extension of my earlier thread:
http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/produc...d-x8016bt.html

Have finally upgraded the ICE for my Safari, and hence current composition is:
  • HU: Kenwood KDC X7016
  • Amp: Mosconi Gladen One 120.4
  • Comps: Rainbow CSX 265 Dream
  • Sub: Infinity Ref 1260
  • Ovals: Infinity Ref 9633i
  • RCAs: Gladen One
  • Power Cable: LAPP Uniplus (25 mm)
  • Speaker Cable: Monster Cable S16-50
  • Subwoofer Cable: MX OFC - 12AWG
  • Fuse: JBL - 80A (the only thing in whole list I am not very sure of being genuine/ fake)
  • Damping: Wurth Sound Damping
The upgrade was done over last one month in three stages:
  1. Change of Front Components to Rainbow
  2. Change of HU
  3. Change of Amp to Mosconi, and change in cabling
Some pics from final stage:

I am also in process of deciding ICE for my Safari 2.2.
Would you mind to share the damages for each equipment?
Thanks

Yes, I would like to have an audition.
I am thinking of upgrading my cable to Gladen as well.

Let me know when I can audition your car. I can come at your office.

Re: ICE Upgrade, Finally: My Safari 2.2

Nice list of equipment..
You might want to change your sub later to something better. To my understanding that's the only thing which is not matching up with the rest of the system.

I agree with Monty. That said I really like the Gladden 1 cable. Then again I have a fondness for "toaster cord".

nice VFM cable....
SOMMER CABLE - Excelsior - Loudspeaker cables - RCA phono cables - XLR cables - antenna cables - Network patch cable CAT.7
sommer cable | SC-GRINDYCOP TWINBEAST | Bulk Cables | STEREO INSTRUMENt / KEYBOARD & HIFI-cable

and they claim this is for the car (extra sheilding)
sommer cable | SC-AQUILA CONTROL | Bulk Cables | HIFI AF-Phono Cable

and this one for home audio
sommer cable | SC-CORONA | Bulk Cables | HIFI AF-Phono Cable

Re: ICE Upgrade, Finally: My Safari 2.2

If you have plans for iDv3 then you might wanna grab it right now before the stock lasts. Or you might wanna look into Audio Systems' HX12 sub-woofer.

Re: ICE Upgrade, Finally: My Safari 2.2

Hi!!!
Some more pics:
Pic 1: The Installer - Chaman @ job
Pic 2: JBL's 80A Fuse
Pic 3: The white one is Subwoofer Cable (Install in process)
Pics 4-6: The Amp and its installation - below the Rear RH Seat.
Pics 8-10: DIY Rear Integrated (Sub+Oval) Enclosure - 19mm MDF, Sealed (1.15 Cu Ft for Sub)

And yes I know - Sub needs better Grill - difficult to find one, hence settled with the normal Steel Mesh covered with Grill Cloth (again DIY).
The same was necessary to protect sub from Luggage Extrusions....

Re: ICE Upgrade, Finally: My Safari 2.2

Hi Ishlesh

I have a query. I want to replace the stock alpine HU in my Safari GX. The HU I am thinking are Pioneer 9350 or Kenny 7016. I need to have a usb and both have it. Pio has front slot where as the kenny 7016 has it in the rear. Can u tell me how are u using it. Where have you kept the usb wire?Is it easily accessible and hidden??

Thanks in advance
