On a budget I'd consider JBL's CS series or Blaupunkt's GTX series. So far I have heard the 4" and 5" on both these series and have prefred the JBL CS series but you may have different tastes.

Mumbai is a big city. which part of mumbai are you?

Stick to big international brands. I would even say stick to specialist Speaker companies but Alpine and Blaupunkt make great car speakers too and JBL makes some really rocking amps. So I'll modify that to say Stick to Specialist Audio companies. Not someone who makes TVs and Computers and 5-in-1s and makes car audio on the side.

Never heard of "Bass warriors", stay away from them. Add another Rs.800 and buy yourself Pioneer 6x9 for around Rs.2300. Put them in an enclosure in the dicky or on the rear parcel tray.

Or for your fronts buy entry level speakers from any reputed brand like Sony, Pioneer, Blau, etc.

I'd ask Bhavi or one of th other guys in Milan Subway. A few weeks back a friend of mine who stays in Juhu had his Santro done at Bhavi and is satisfied. He got JBL CS series front and back and Blau. ipod capable HU all for 14K incl. install.
