| ![]() Finally after a long long wait, I was able to get together the ICE and complete it for now. Without much drama, let the music play. Past Equipment List The CAR -- SWIFT ZXI SPEAKERS FRONT- DLS Components (MS6A) SPEAKERS REAR - NONE HU - ALPINE CDA -117 (Time Alignment, Bluetooth, USB, IMPRINT Ready, IPOD/Iphone ready) basically all the oohhh laa laaa one can look for. AMP - JBL 75.4 (The old master) WIRES - Scosche 4 Awg. Damping - Front 2 Doors. The RESULT Me sitting in car with a weird smile on the face, people on the road and in their cars wondering whats the funny joke he heard. Its been a long time I was smiling all day without much to explain to anyone. Current Equipment List The Car -- Swift ZXI SPEAKERS FRONT - DLS 2 WAY COMPONENTS SPEAKERS REAR - NONE HU - ALPINE CDA 117 + PAC for steering wheel controls AMP 1 - DLS RA 20 -- powering the fronts ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() SUB - lil suspense ![]() ![]() ![]() WIRING (RCA'S/POWER/SPEAKERS) - AUDISON + 1 SCOSCHE Power/Ground Wire ![]() DAMPING - FRONT 2 Door damped more + Boot INSTALLATION PLACE - MOTOR CONCEPTS The RESULT Me jumping in the car......finding words to explain what I am experiencing ...HEAVENNNNNNNN.... it has finally opened its gates and I am on its DOOOR... n Floooreeeddddd.. ![]() If Music is what drives my SOUL.... I am now breathing it with every song I play..... The noticable difference is the way the Comps are now singing with autority. Earlier the highs were detailed no complains..now they are very detailed which adds more quality to the setup. The comp woofers are now actually hitting and I can very well feel what I was missing from the setup. RA20 just talks to these comps with pure fun and makes them work hard...real hard. DLS has made me a lifelong fan, their products are just awesome and I am sure the ones who have experienced it wont let it off so easily. Now the biggest difference to the whole config....THE SUB... It took me a lot of time thinking what i really wanted, many products were shorlisted and then again the list revisted and again revisted...finally I could make THE CHOICE. SUB - FOCAL 33V2 (in a custom sealed box) ![]() ![]() AMP 2 - ROCKFORD FOSGATE 500-1 -- powering the sub ![]() The sub is Awesooooommmmeeeeee !!! Period. It does it jobs perfect, NO DRAMA at all. Blends beautifully with the overall sound stage and KICKS HARD I mean HARRDDDD !!!! and that too very QUICKLY..no sleeping over the punch. A BIG THANKS to AJAY (Bass&Trouble) once again, earlier he helped me with the comps and this time around with the beautiful sub. The two most important part of the setup and they are what makes the whole experience pleasurable. Thanks Man. YOU ROCK. Another big thanks to Motor Concepts for working with me in completing the setup as per my liking. Its a very professional store and that's the best thing about them. NEXT STEP -- Tune the setup more to experience more Magic. Couple of random clicks, will post more in some time to showcase the rear truck view. (seats are removed as seats were also done by Motor Concepts on that day) PS:-- I am noway affiliated to the store, they helped me with the installation and I like their attention to detail and quality work. I have used Focal subs (home audio and ported) and they are mad. really mad. Impact (transient response) is their forte even if they dont go as low as some other subs. But I have always noted that they require rather large boxes (again compared to their similarly sized brethren from other companies). | |

| ![]() Navin Jee I am using 1.06 Cu.Ft. sealed enclosure, this was chosen as per the Focal recommended size for faster and tighter response. And yes your are right, they are mad..really mad.. they love being pushed. The LPF is set at 50 HZ at the moment, do share your recommendations, still trying to experiment. Let me find the sheet and share it here with you. Graph depicting the sealed enclosure response curve based on size chosen. ![]() |

| ![]() Ok to update the thread, played a little with the system settings. Currently the settings are as below. HU - Parametric EQ (default settings/no boost) Fronts - Thru DLS RA20 HPF - 80 Hz (no bassboost/phasing) Sub - Thru RF500-1 LPF - 55HZ (no bassboost/phasing) The system sounds sweet, for melidious/vocal tracks the punch is enough to keep the soothing effect and for Bass heavy tracks, the SUB makes a grant entry. ![]() I am currently not using the TA feature as such, played a lil bit around with it. Can someone suggest what is the sweet spot for TA settings. |
