NO!!!

I strongly suggest u don't get the DIN2 hu fitted in the ikon.
U will have to mutilate the cigarette lighter socket, ash-tray,etc.
This plastic part is really hard u might end up losing the dash.

Even i have an ikon and tried it, but not worth doing!!

[quote=navin].

One can put a 1 DIN player in a 2 DIN hole by getting an adapter that covers the rest of the space

Navin

CAn you tell me where I can get myself one of those adapters?? and how much it would cost??... secondly given whats available in the market - would you recommend a 2-din setup or the single din ones? .. Pathetic options in two dins (non DVD)

@shalini: Welcome to TBHP

Most of us want u to trade that 2 Din thingy to a single Din thingy.You get loads of useful advise on that.

Apart from those canadian dollars, if you dont have any sentiments attached with it, you shud try the single Din option..honestly..

Many car audio shops have them.

they look like this....
http://www.crutchfield.com/S-Kx8zfIU...200&avf=N&pg=2

BTW you can get better 1 DIN players than 2 DIN players.

Might be off topic but, there are single din units in which the moniter slides out of it. This seemes to be the only easy and possible way.

Hey Shalini, how you doin?...and I assume the rightful owner of your name must be a member of the fairer sex.

So yeah, I think it's a great idea to stuff the 2-din unit into the dash. In fact, check if the same bloke can carve out like a 3-din space into the dash or it's neighbourhood, so you have some space to stash some lipsticks, liners, mascara etc. and a few brushes.

My girlfriend thinks it's a great idea too but somehow doesnt appreciate that happening to her car. I wonder why?
