Thats just perfect !!!

Breakups of Aseem's config for Xing :

HU(7.5k)+
Pioneer306SVC/box(4k)+
RearSpk(4k)+
JBL426e(2.5k)+
Pioneer 6100f(7k)+
Wiring(2k)

7.5+4+4+2.5+7+2 = 27K + Install charges.

This config is looking sweet, I could maybe use the JBLGTO1000, but will the amp be underpowered running front comps+sub ?

Thanks guys.

i think the pioneer 6100f will give out 150w rms in bridged mode for the sub, so i feel it will power the JBL GTO 1000B sub pretty well. But if you are looking for a free-air sub then i guess you can go in for JBL GTO 1002 sub. Both have a power handling of 250w rms. My suggestion would be a JBL sub over a Pioneer anyday.

Cheers

I had thought of only JBL from the start... Pioneer was just an alternative in case this guy felt Pioneer is where its at

Yeah I had a chat with Mclaren and he also vouched for the 6100. So will recommend the amp in this setup. Looks like we will settle on something similar to aseem's suggestion... Just maybe change the rear speaker.

thanks.

Q. if you got a sub why use 6x9 in the rear. you can get away with a pair fo 5-6" coax speakers and use better cables instead.

A lot of people do this Navin. Actually, often people like the extra mid bass whack(40 to 70 Hz) a 6X9 willl give (assuming it's running on full pass)

Hey thanks for all the replies guys!

Navin, in my first post I had mentioned why 6x9" because this guy doesnt want "small" speakers at the back Heheh.

Left to me, I would have replicated JK-Das JBLfyed xing. Still trying to convince him to go for 5 -6" rear comps and invest on wiring instead.

if you get 5 quater speakers for rear
1) you can use the rear pods...no cutting needs
2) replace the tray with mdf in case you want free air sub
3) box saves space and gives tight thump
4) try to get blaupunkt PA275 amp, damn worth
5) soundstream sells 4inch compos i guess. wnna try?
6) get nice cables
7) i will be trying the SWWS fitting in future as when i need to take teh box sub out, I still would have a bck up sub!

Debonaire is bes, as i do have that bass tube of debonaire its too cheap thats i think for Rs 12000/- only (ex-cluding freight) freight may Rs 300/- what else you will also try that.

Hi JK

The guy im configuring the setup for is adamant on having rear 6x9". Tried explaining it to him today, but this is one of the only things he specified from the start.

Thanks for recommending the soundstreams 4" will check them out for my santro. My reason for going with JBL is to support a certain special member here! hehe.

Blaupunkt pa275 - asked around with a few dealers here, they dont seem to have it... Wouldnt mind in getting one of these myself, can put the Sony 502 to rest !!
