how much are they for?
4mm is rather small. for an 8" sub i'd like to see 8-9mm atleast. 4mm means that the driver might be a better midwoofer than a subwoofer.

however i gotta see other specs too
Cms, Mms, Vas, etc.

Exactly what I was thinking. Xmax does not look that good. Each is about Rs 550 I think. Will have to check that properly. Samuel Jayaraj suggestes pro audio drivers. Samuel has a source for Eminence sub drivers.

But tell me, if I get a good quality driver like Eminence, would one 12 incher (maybe 200W RMS) be enough for serious thumping?

To add to post no 62, I spoke to Mr Dilip from Dev Electronics in Mumbai. He has peerless india sub drivers. 10 inch= rs 3500. 12 inch= rs 4500. He was not sure the model numbers. But the problem is that I cannot see the drivers.

You are some character Sam. Is there any audio dealer you do not know?

Now, I am in the mood to try something like a horn design or tranmission line when I get hold of some good drivers. I want to do something big. Opinions please anyone.

Sam, Vivek, I'd love to see these woofers. esp if they have reliable spec sheet attached.

if Dilip can deliver these drivers go ahead but i doubt their published specs.

quite a few but their Fs is too high and the Cms to stiff for home use. pro audio drivers are built to take huge ammounts of power over log duration.
you are looking for a Maruti not a Mack truck.

hey ,guys i would suggest that you look at beyma as well . The drivers are quite reasonably priced and its easy to get them and start off . they had studio series of subs as well as professional series

I have beyma 12 " and i can tell you they are excellent .vivek ,since you happen to have some experience with electronics ,i wud suggest that you try looking for beyma subs .
