Alpine Type R's need good amount of power. I would recommend two Type R's running on 1005 instead of 605 with a final impedance of 4 ohms.

Now I am confused. Pio Mono costs less than Alpine mono and there are a few other factors (which woofer, SPL required, etc...) that are involved.

navin boss,

budget : flexible (upto 12-15K)
woofers: pair of pioneer 306C
basic requirement : lot of Boom
Box used : ported; seperate for each woofer.

15K of amps for 6K of woofers? Odd match. Anyway the Pio 944 can swing a lot of volts and sells for less than 15K. I dont know if the Pio 510 is 2 ohm stable but that can also be an option.

yes if u a SVC then 510 will be a good option to go for but for future expansion and use go for 944 it is also a good option. If only subs then 510 is the best for u and it is 2ohms stable

look at the specs see which one can dump more current with large drivers (Mms > 100gms) this is eesential.

navin boss, he he....

another one for you plz.....i cdnt find Mms

Alpine MRD-M605
  • • CEA-2006 Power Rating (4Ohm@14.4V = 1%THD+N), S/N 65dBA (Ref. 1W into 4Ohm): 400W x 1
RMS Power (at 14.4V,20Hz-200Hz)
  • • Per channel into 4 ohms : 400W x 1
  • • Per channel into 2 ohms : 600W x 1

MMs is for the woofer not the amp. as far as the amps go, the rest of the alpine specs are not required and the Pio specs are not readble (i have PMed you the not readable specs so you can refine them). Thanks Navin

mrd-605 spec
RMS Power (at 14.4V,20Hz-200Hz)
Per channel into 4 ohms : 400W x 1
Per channel into 2 ohms : 600W x 1

CEA-2006 Power Rating (4Ohm@14.4V = 1%THD+N), S/N 65dBA (Ref. 1W into 4Ohm): 400W x 1

Pioneer d510
Maximum power output
600 W × 1 (4 Ω) / 1,000 W × 1 (2 Ω)
Continuous power output
300 W × 1 (at 14.4 V, 4 Ω,, 0.4% THD)
500 W × 1 (at 14.4 V, 2 Ω, 0.8% THD)

It means that alpine is a little more power than pioneer. And alpine has got a good digital display on it for all the settings. I would prefer mrd 605 if compared with pioneer.

Slightly offtopic...but what airport will you be flying into? Im just curious about how people bringing in ICE/accessories deal with fussy customs officers at times...maybe I will start a separate thread

I think there is a thread on this topic. Please seach.

at 14.4V, about 1% distortion
4 ohms
Alpine 605 = 400W = 40A
Pio D510 = 300W = 34A
2 ohms
Alpine 605 = 600W = 34A
Pio D510 = 500W = 31A

this means Alpine 605 > Pio D510, BTW is the 605 the smae price as the 510?
