Help Needed in Upgrading my system in Baleno

Hi friends,
This is my first posting in this forum apart from my introduction.
I have recently bought a new Maruti Baleno Vxi. The car comes with a factory fitted Maruti-Kenwood CD/MP3/FM head unit and 4 speakers - 2 in front door pads and 2 in rear parcel tray. I am not at all happy with the performance of the audio system. I think the poor performance is due to the proor speaker quality and its size. I am littrelly confused in deciding what to do.

I require some sugessions form the experts like you.

1. Will the performance increase by changing the rear speakers in the rear parcel tray. If so which one - Make and type
2. Should I add a tweeter also - If yes which one - Make and type.
3. Can I retain the front door speakers or should I change that also.

I want to spend very little and get the best performance.

or do you want me to do something or add something to improve the performance. I listen to some light music and not a very hard rock ones.

I want to later upgrade and add an LCD screen also. The present Kenwood system do not have a video output. Is it better to change / upgrade the headunit or add a CD Change with video out put.
If changing a HU which one is better. Which LCD will suite Baleno - Roof mounted. How is CARBON audio systems and LCD Screens? Any one has fixed it already?

Which is the best place in Bangalore to buy this audio systems and LCD screen. Can we buy for the auto accessories person or are there specialliest in these.

Please Suggest and enlighten me.

Looking forward for your earliest response.

Regards,

K.Nagaraj

For 5K I'd just upgrade the front speakers.
VCD HUs are about 7K but DVD HUs are about 17K
the cheapest LCD screen I have see is about 4.5-5K.

Navin, he can get compos for the front. He can upgrade the rears later if he wants to. If he is adding a sub later, the Kenwood rears can reamain. What say?

Thanks guys,
I would like to know is it important in upgrading the front or rear speakers first? Which one gives more effect? or else should I upgrade bothe the front and rear speakers. I can relax my budget little bit.
For rear 6" x9" ovel 4 way speakers are ok. Make JBL / SONY /PIONEER / CARBON. Which one is good?
If I have to upgrade my front speakers which one should I go in for? There is a provision for fixing the speakers in the front door pads.
I am also going to add a pair of tweeters. Which one do you suggest.

Please Help me out.

Regards,

K.Nagaraj

Where do you sit. if you sit in the front upgrade the front.

I dont know Carbon speakers. I know of speakers madeof Carbon fiber but no brand called Carbon. of the brands you mentioned JBL seems the best in my humble opinion other brands youcan consider are Balupunkt ODx, Alpine Type R, and Infinity. if those dont satisfy you, Focal, Boston, Polk momo, should.

I know purists will not like it....but to get acceptable thump, I would suggest you just add a subwoofer (maybe a 8-10 inch box with built in amp)....most of the time people do not like the system because it produces no bass at all...and when you crank up the vol in search of Bass..the o/p seems shrill

no,u will need an amplifier to run a subw.Cheapest amp will be sony 502/504.
If u can increase ur budget[for subw+amp],then consider this.....

1.sony VCD HU-7k
2.Front components spk-3.5k [JBL,Hertz]
3.Chinese LCD monitor-4k
4.Sony 4-ch 504 amplifier 4.5k
5.Pio 10" SVC subw-3k
6.wiring+install-2k

front spk will get power from 2 ch of amplifier abd subw from rest two [bridged].HU will power rear spk which u have.So u have to discard front spk in case u have 6"x9" rear spk.baleno should take 6.5" front spk with rings.
