baracudda 21inches ?? he wont come into any category of DB Drag in india, the max is 18 inches you can go, so anyone cant just walk in with anything and race.
And in india only Street A, B and C are held.
So, no monster category, and in street you will have to have most stock parts, like backseat, it has to be fixed and not collapsed, no reinforced glass, no partitions, fixed battery volume, etc etc.

You obviously had an entry so do fill us in on some details
The event was scheduled for Sept, but actually happened in November begining as far as I remember,
I took part in Street A, came second to my friend Thouqeer,
my readings were 131 DB, his was 132 DB.
Both our cars were from Auto Fusion, and Auto fusion won all positions in all categories except for Street C 1st.

My friend Raghu took part in Street C with a RFT30001bd and single Kicker SOLOX 18 incher, his car had some problems and due to lack of space he had to fit it into a SUMO at the last moment, and he still hit 139.5 Db and placed second, can you imagine what that sub will do if fitted in a SKoda ? no other boot can fit that big a box.

And this 2006 Db drag, me comin with a BIIG setup for Street B.
Its a secret now, but you will see probably india's highest SPL record in DB Drag ever.
CHEERS

Blueraven,

I can recall the DB Drag at Vaahan Yatra, Bangalore. I was there, I met Touqeer and saw the Sumo with 18" Kicker running of a RF 3000 amp.

Also there was a guy with his Tata Sierra with two Audiobahn 15's. What say B&T

Lol yeah, the setup in the Tata Sierra with the 2 Audiobahn 15s clocked 144.9 dB in a Sony SPL competition judged by Deepak Asrani in Bombay in a Tata Safari. Maybe the guys shouldnt have taken it out from that car at all . The guys that won the Street C competition had 4 Pioneer subs in an enclosure that fit into the trunk of a Zen . Yeeeaaaaaaaaaaah!!!

The subs' magnets were probably touching the rear baffles and they were using more conductors than allowed for the class (there is a restriction on the no. of wires running from the subs to their respective amp as per class). And the judge Mr Yohan had a method of counting conductors which was a bit different from what's stated in the rulebook. But all's well that end's loud...err well!

Yeah, the guy with the Sierra was Anoop, he had a 1500 RMS Audiobahn amp with a pair pf 15 inch ALUM15N 1100 RMS subs, his rear glass was falling off and a guy was holding it, with such a loose setup he should not have come to DB Drag with that car, his Santro with the same setup would have rocked, that too he came with Caps fitted, who brings caps for DB Drag ?

If you saw all this, you would have seen the Purple Zen with the Body kit too, that was mine and came second in Street A
I unfortunately had a delayed shipment and my other 10 inch Storm sub did not arrive, or else I definitely had Street A in my kitty . Anyways what is gone is gone, now we will See in 2006.

We were too busy that day with our cars, and no one had a cam, so no pics on our side, the Overdrive guys took pics which came on next Issue of Overdrive, but we dont have em, next time we will take some snaps for sure.

Also at the DB Drag I had told Raghu (SUMO guy with SOLO X) to fit it in his skoda and run for the drag, but he was more worried about a possible Shattered Glass than the Glass Trophy.

It not my car, its a friend's car, who is my Parent distributor for Stinger in US, he has single Battery but a Stinger Sp1700 battery 1700 amps, our stock batteries are between 60 amps to 80 amps. I myself use a 1200 Amps Stinger SP1000 Battery, so imagine what that is.
Stinger 150 amps Alternator, separate 0 Ga wires for each amp.

Db Drags have been held in Mumbai, Madras 2004 and the last one in Bangalore last year. To my knowledge Delhi hasnt had any.

In Madras there were Street A, B and C classes with most cars competing in Street A, a few in Street B and just one in Street C. It was held during the AV expo in June.

I dont know if the India version of the Drag follows the US rules though.
It does follow the same rules.
