Our member '5u3zero' participated once in a dbdrag in chennai and won 2nd place too!!!
Thanks Nitrous bro for remembering me but you made a mistake, I won First place not second.

I competed in Street A class with my Palio and clocked 134 db (133.8 to be precise) with my stock system. Did not spend any time tuning for the drag nor did I visit my installer before the drag. I just took my daily drive and had fun. Second place was a distant 127 db!

Yep, Cerwin vegas are indeed sexy, you have a Vega Series sub, must say 134 is very high for that setup. Keep it up.

Indeed, good performance
I would say year 2004 DB drag in bangalore had some good cars in Street A, Deepak ran with a Cerwin vega Stroker sub with some amp and clocked 134.9 DB and some Guy with a Santro won DB drag with a LA X2 12 inch quadvoicecoil Sub and a RF 1001bd 2003 model amp clocking 135.1 DB, very close indeed.

HI MATE, yes i have taken part in db drag in banglore 2003. i was the winner there in C category. i fitted the system in my zen which i only use for db drag. iwas running it on 3 1500watts velocity sub woofer dual coil, 3 pioneer 944 amp for the sub. 3 pioneer equalizer 6500,3 rockford fosgate capactor for the sub, pioneer 6600 head unit touch screen, mb quart front speakers, audison amplifier and monstore cables. it was awesome. i had some good partcipants in my category but still i could rock there. all the credit goes to the man ANWAR auto fusion he is the man who installed and did the whole tuning for me. if any doubt in car audio fitting call him anwar auto fusion his number is 00919886037737. u can give my refrence if u want. he is too good. cheers mate.

I assume for bass boost. I have seen In delhi people use the best hu and this 6500 also in between the hu and the amp. They say this improve the SQ.

Nahin yaar LBM, The Pioneer 6500 can contribute anything but SQ. Secondly, 1 equalizer I can still understand, but 3!?!

Most decent head units give you sufficient equalization options. The 6500s were only good in the days when the head unit only came with tone controls i.e. bass and treble at fixed frequencies (usually 100Hz and 10kHz), and if the head unit didn't have independent front/ rear and sub outs. Otherwise it's plain trash for $265.

There are certain people who have the following

HU ---- > Pioneer 6500------ >7600 / 9200 DSP

I wonder what they want to do with the music. All you can hear in their system is weird thump and fizz along with their fav. DSP mode (Jazz / Club / Hall / Disco etc. etc.)
