Polk Momo C 500.1 Mono Block AMP

hi..guys ..i am looking for an amp to power up my alpine SWR 1242 D Sub in my swift...i earlier checked on alpine MRP M450 and JL 1200e Amps..but now i have got a better deal on the polk c.500.1 mono block amp.

the specs for the sub are..

Power Handling

* • Power Handling Capacity (Peak) : 1500W
* • Power Handling Capacity (RMS) : 500W

General

* • Diaphragm Material : Kevlar Reinforced Pulp
* • Spider Material : Nomex
* • Frequency Response : 23Hz - 500Hz

the specs for the amp are

Power

Channels 1 MonoBlock
Total Dynamic Power (all ch. driven) 975 watts

14.4 Volts RMS Not Bridged @ 1kHz
4 Ohms 350 watts x 1
2 Ohms 500 watts x 1
Electrical

Signal-to-noise (Referenced to rated power) > 105 dBA

Remote Gain 0 to -30dB

Input Impedance > 10k Ohms

Output Impedance < 0.02 Ohms

Overall Frequency Response (-3 dB Points) < 10Hz to 200Hz

Protection circuitry Power and ground reversal, Thermal and Short, Current

Overdraw and Low Impedance Protection with auto stand-by mode

Filter Settings

Subsonic Filter 24dB/Octave @ 15Hz

Low Pass Filter frequency 30Hz to 200Hz

Low Pass Filter slope 12 or 24dB/Octave

I would like to know if this amp would be a better alternative to the alpine MRP M450 / JL 1200e.

http://www.alpine-europe.com/content...-AMPLIFIER.htm

the momo amp puts out 500W at 2 ohms v/s 275 for the JL as per above links. The Alpine puts out 400W but has one confusing spec.
"Per channel into 4 ohms: 220W x 1 (1% THD)
Per channel into 2 ohms: 400W x 1
Brigded 4 ohms: 600W x 1 "

how does one bridge a mono amp! ???

Polk Audio amplifier is good, the amps equivalent and comparable to Polk is JL Slash Series 500/1 and Alpine V12 Series MRD-M605. Not the lower end ones.

U can go for the polk as it the most powerful in all the three. Also the S/n ratio is better than alpine and jl is a ab class . rest it is ur money use it where do u like.

Alpine V12 amps allow you to tune the amp from some Alpine HU but you need an expensive connector cable to do that.

Beyond that I think there is little difference. The 2 amps weigh about the same. (3.7 v/s 3.9 kg).

from Alpine's website
"Extensive control doesn’t mean much if you have to crawl under the hood or take your equipment apart to do it. Amplifier Link lets you make comprehensive sound adjustments to all the V12 AccuClass-D amplifiers in your system — up to eight of them — directly from the head unit. A total of 11 parameters can be adjusted, including Digital Time Correction, Crossover and Parametric EQ. Amp temperature, voltage and current are even shown on the head unit display, and each amp can be named for easy identification."

here the link
