I think you had Abeo 150 and not happy with night video performance. Which model do you recommend?

It had dropped to the floor a few times. And continued to work just as well subsequently.

Time to look for another low-budget dashcam. Maybe something with a little better resolution and wider angle of view than this one. But certainly not going up to the budget of a Transcend, SJ1000 or Mobius.

Suggestions welcome.
Same case with me. The battery is the culprit. I gad GS9000 chinese stuff with ambarella As270 chipset. It has goven good videos at 720P( opted by me instead of 1080 P to save space)
If you can change the LIPO battery it will work.

I just bought a 0805 mini, still waiting for it to be delivered. It had the night videos to match the $200 recorders.

Ordered one myself for the same reason! I looked up a few videos on YouTube and the quality was pretty good both during day and night. Fingers crossed on the reliability though.

Is there any dash can +GPS unit currently available in India??

EDIT: by GPS I meant GPS with maps, I know that most dashcams use GPS internally to calculate speed and other info

Re: The Dashcam / Car Video Recorder (DVR) Thread

SJ4000 WiFi cam when used as a dashcam, gives footage/snaps which are too wide angle. Sometimes the distortion created by the wide angle is a bit too much to digest. Sometimes it includes just too much of your car's dashboard. Photos are easy to crop, videos are not. Tried to solve the problem by zooming in a bit. I know it has digital zoom, but still.
Here's a pic that I created which shows the frame at various zoom settings. A zoom of 1.3-1.6 helps you to cut down the dashboard/hood and also helps to reduce the distortion to some extent. Currently I am doing dashcam recording at 1.5 zoom level and the videos are fine. The only problem is that the zoom setting is lost every time the cam is switched off.

Here is the video comparing A118 & Mini 0805.

Mini 0805 is better but A118 isn't bad either. I checked my car's wiper sweep. I have concerns on Mini 0805 fitting discreetly behind the RVM within the wiper sweep. I feel dash cam is like auto insurance - I don't see much use in normal driving case. Anyway, I have decided to try out. I have placed order for A118 and let me see how it works out.

If anyone's ordering Mini 0805 from gearbest.com use the code GB0805,you get a $12.5 discount making the price $73.99 against the list price of $ 86.53

Just sharing it for the benefit of other forum members, have no personal interest.

Re: The Dashcam / Car Video Recorder (DVR) Thread

I received the 0805 cam today. It took almost 20 days to get here and I was lucky I had to pay no customs, may be the seller marking it at $30 and as gift helped.

The kit included- Mini 0805,USB cable, car charger,GPS mount and a 2 way sticker for mounting without GPS.

I updated the firmware from here: https://dashcamtalk.com/cams/mini080...5_GPS_1CARD.7z

Waiting for microSD card to arrive, will test the cam and post videos later. If all's good, I'll probably get the 0806 and use the 0805 at rear in future.
