Just sharing it for the benefit of other forum members, have no personal interest.

Thank you very much Shashank. I used the code and it works. But the list price is changed to 97.04$ before applying the coupon, if you have observed correctly.

I'm booking it and hoping to receive it ASAP without any customs.

If you've opted for Singapore post like I did,
I think you might get lucky too. From my experience registered post is not scrutinized as much as packages coming through DHL FedEx etc.

I observed that change but didn't mention here since the final price was $76.xx. I've no idea why they do that.

I opted for Auto option, I dint select Singapore post, I think it was mentioned as 0.26$ for the same. I selected the free option and also mentioned a note to the seller about the customs part, lets see how it goes.

Also they have a back order process, where they take the order and authorize the payment and once the product is available they procure it within 3-7 days & dispatch and later they charge it to your credit card. Hope everything goes smoothly.

Also can you let me know, how to use GPS on this device. Why was the firmware updated?

GPS comes as a mount (small black thing next to manual in pics I put up). You just plug the camera into it and your good to go.
I updated the firmware since the earlier versions had bugs which were fixed and some improvements made with future updates.

Got my G1W-C dashcam delivered last week. See a sample video taken at 720p resolution. It seems to be quite poor compared to 1080p. Ignore the audio.

Have been testing the Mini 0805 for a week now. When I started recording with default settings, it was quite disappointing. But it does have options to set EV, Exposure type, etc. After a few trial and error, I settled for HDR mode and EV = +.07 and this is the result.

Couple niggles. The mount is bit shaky compared to my eariler RVM mounted camera. It takes the clock from the GPS, but doesn't let me pick timezone as +5.5, it is either 5 or 6. So the clock is always wrong. I have also notices it skips a few seconds between files, not always though.

The actual video is 1080p, but I reduced the resolution to reduce the upload size. The actual video is of very high quality.

So I've been experimenting with Mini 0805 for a few days now and like mentioned by Samurai, I quickly realized the default resolution turns out some horrible videos. Its very grainy and looks like upscaled SD content at best.

So set it to 1920x1080 HDR mode and the results have been pretty good. I still feel the camera is capable of delivering much sharper videos though. Will have to open it up later if need be as sometimes it appears out of focus.

Some observations:
Here are two videos shot today,do watch it in 1080p to get an idea of video quality. I hope it helps those who are planning to buy this model.

Need some suggestions-
Want to get a dashcam but have the following questions
1) do they take power from the cigarette lighter slot or require additional wiring
2) any suggestions on which dashcam to buy? And from where? I am looking for a cost effective solution

I had bought the Nextbase 402G Professional dash cam around Xmas time when Amazon UK were giving it away for half price. However, I managed to get it installed only about now and thoroughly impressed. 1080p output, GPS, Motion sensor. Looks slightly big and easily visible outside. But my usage will be limited to record scenic routes on holidays.

I had posted a query in another thread but haven't got any replies. So posting here also.

Now that fellow is not taking my calls or replying to mails and messages, its been over 8 months now. I had bought the product from eBay. And eBay has refused to help.
That's why I'm looking for a better quality dash cam with good warranty and am confused between all 3 varieties of Transcend Drivepro . Please help me out. I can go for 220 also, cost is not the issue.

Actually, things got worse yesterday on my 9 hour long drive to Bangalore.

Somewhere midway, the dashcam hung. Yup, it hung like the good old windows screen, with a wait icon in the center. It was not recording any more and none of the buttons worked. Even disconnecting the power didn't work. I had to let the battery drain away before I could get the control back.

After I restarted, it started recording on and off for few seconds and repeat it again. Finally it corrected itself and started recording normally.

Today I downloaded the latest firmware (2015/04/23) from http://dc.p-mc.eu/0805/firmware and updated it. You need to rename it to firmware.bin and place it in the memory card.

Let's see how this firmware behaves.

These DVRs do hung up once in a while due to overheating. I had used mine for 21 hours with usual breaks for breakfast, launch, dinner. it worked beautifully for one year. later started hanging up. It used to work after a gap of 60-90 minutes.
i think the main issue is the LIPO battery with low capacity.
When my DVR finally gone, i had opened it to find battery melted.
Mine was Dome GS9000 model with Ambarella As270 and OV2810 image sensor. I have 1.3 TB footage with this DVR before it conked off

My previous dashcam hadn't failed a single time in the whole one year under any kind of usage. It was Made in Taiwan.

As a product developer myself, I know the reason behind this. These days too many cheap products are out there with mind boggling feature set and at dirt cheap price. It makes the product irresistible to us. The only way this is possible is by cutting down on quality and testing. If a dashcam goes cuckoo after 5 hours usage when the outside temp was less than 25C, it has not undergone much field testing at all.

We rely on dashcam to work all the time, so that it can act video witness in any accident. Yesterday was the first time in a year I didn't have video coverage of my drive. It was not a good feeling.

This is why I said stick to the Transcend DrivePro. After your experience with the Abeo I thought you would go for branded ones rather than same unknown one.

Transcend DrivePro is too visible. The Abeo was a very high quality product, except the videos were average.

I was looking a DOD 430 or 460, then the $99 Mini 0805 was irresistible and was highly recommended in many reviews. Let's see how the new firmware behaves.
