So it appears this is plug and play without having to open the fuse box and playing around with it right? Does it have an app for IOS any idea?

I have installed my 70 mai dash smart pro in a wrong location on the windshield. Now the 3M mount is glued to the glass like cement. Not buzzing even a fraction of a mm. Please suggest how to remove the mount so that I can relocate my dashcam installation.

Re: The Dashcam / Car Video Recorder (DVR) Thread

For everyone who are looking for 70Mai pro and other products, beyond Amazon, the following website is a good alternative. You get near about the same price that you get on Amazon and the seller is very very responsive on whatsapp. It is run by "Vijay Sales", the same folks who are sellers on Amazon. I purchased a 70Mai Pro from them at about 200 bucks more than Amazon. There was a goof up in the shipment which was resolved on priority and the seller was prompt and most importantly available during the entire ordeal.I would definitely recommend purely basis my personal experience.

70mai.in/

Please note that the A800 and Pro models are currently out of stock and the website indicates they will be back in stock within 4 days. Get in tocuh with the seller via whatsapp on 8160446485

Cheers

Try using a strong thread to cut the glued part in see-saw motion. You can use dental floss thread if available. My Viofo came with similar thread in the box and I have successfully removed the dashcam mount thrice till now for various reasons.
Other option I can think of is using a heat gun from outside of windshield to melt the glue, though I am not sure of its effectiveness.

Yes, it will support iOS also.

What they have written in the manual: Supported OS - Android4.4/iOS8.0 and above

You may also check with their website: https://www.70mai.com/en/dash-cam-pro/

Re: The Dashcam / Car Video Recorder (DVR) Thread

Just seen that Amazon lists 70mai Smart Dash cam pro plus A500 at Rs.7499

Link

A few differences between the previous Pro and the new Pro plus are:

Pro Plus A500:
-In-built GPS
-Time-lapse photography
-Time Zone setting
-Turn off speaker volume
-No Voice Control

The above changes are mentioned in the above link (please double check)

I'm waiting for a price-drop on A-800. That's my next buy. 4K should be great. Anyone purchased this premium product?

Re: The Dashcam / Car Video Recorder (DVR) Thread

I am caught in a dilemma on which dash cam to go with. My requirements are:

1. Provide round the clock surveillance both front and back
2. The cams should be discrete and not prominently seen
3. Mobile interface would be an advantage for ease of review and use
4. Reasonable service to be provided by seller
5. Preferably plug and play, not sure if hardwiring is really needed for parking surveillance

Any pointers which can fit the bill?

Seems to look like a simple job, will try whenever I intend to remove the 3M sticker for my dashcam.

I can suggest the following keeping your req#1-3. You will have to order the bundles (Both front & rear). These models do not have a screen and small in size and are plug and play with the power adapter connected to the 12V socket and will only work when the car is ON.
As these models do not come with in-built batteries, for round the clock parking surveillance, you would need to get a hard wiring kit and connect these cams to the battery for continuous power supply.
  1. Blueskysea B1W WiFi Mini Dash Cam
  2. DDPAI Mini Car Dash Camera
  3. 70mai Smart Dash Cam 1S

Hope this helps you making a decision!

What is your budget?

If you can spend round Rs.11/12000, then the best option will be 70mai A800 which comes with front and rear camera. The product not available now in India, but will be listed soon on Amazon or other online shopping stores.

You can see the feature of 70mai A800 here

Hi Sumathindra, if you are okay with the budget and looking to buy from an Indian company just check SC01 from Safe cams Pune and they tick every point of yours. They are an Indian company providing service locally the cams front(2k), rear(1080p) comes with mobile app and the advantage is you can watch it live, click a photo, download and share it on the go and also comes with memory sd card upto 128gb. I had purchased it locally from their site after getting strong recommendations from few friends and was exactly the points raised by you which I too was looking for.
Just check the spec sheet and website which will provide the answers you are looking for.

Thank you and much appreciated. How much did you pay and have you hardwired it to your car and is it do it by self? From what I have read so far is, if you need 24 hrs parking surveillance, it needs to be hard wired!

For occasional use, one can try Autoboy app along with a phone. I found it decent during a recent trip to Uttarakhand; used with a old phone.
