Re: The Dashcam / Car Video Recorder (DVR) Thread

Got Qubo 4K dual channel dashcam installed on my Punto from Car Decor, Jayanagar. Total cost was 18K including internal hardwiring and service charges. Had been using it since couple of months without any issues and found it to be very useful. Number plate captures are crisp and clear. Even audio pick up from the mic is great. Video grab from front 4K doesnt play directly on my One plus Nord CE 3 Lite and I usually upload it to YouTube and watch it later on any screen. There is a provision to change the resolution though to HD. Rear cam is HD and still captures decently.

Below are some links of videos from front 4k dashcam for reference:

In your Tirumala to Tirupati (Journey#4) video, at 0:34 time stamp, you're overtaking at a "right hander blind spot" which is extremely dangerous. I've not seen the other videos, but if you're someone who does that quite often, then you must stop!

Thanks for your concern . It's one-way both uphill and downhill! I never do that in the other case!

Hi,

Planning to get a dual channel dash camera for XUV700. Belive it is same (or similar to red_hot_punto's).

Can someone please confirm if this model (hopefully same as what is mentioned) takes USB-C or micro usb as input for hard wiring kit?

Anything else to keep in mind based on others prior experience with these options + XUV700 combination? Specially wrt impact to car's battery charge?

The dealer (Sireesh Auto) is happy to install for me for Rs 1,500 additionally. Just asked me to source my own camera and hardwiring kit.

Thanks in advance!

It takes Micro Usb as input from hardwiring and right, it's the same model that you have mentioned.

Re: The Dashcam / Car Video Recorder (DVR) Thread

I am sharing my mixed experience with 70Mai Pro plus+ A500S dual dashcam which I bought on Amazon in January 2024.

I faced a major issue. Whenever parked under open sun, when interior temperature is above 40°C, the dashcam switches off in seconds, restarts in a few seconds, switches off again and this continues for 15-20 minutes while I cool the cabin aggressively with AC

As I usually park in closed parking of my home, this happens only when I am on long drives involving stopping on hot sun.

I have the same dashcam model in my other car which works flawlessly.

I found a similar complaint in Amazon reviews.
https://www.amazon.in/gp/aw/review/B...language=en_US

I contacted Nexdigitron through WhatsApp. They acknowledged the issue by seeing my video, sent me a USB cable for free and assured that this will solve the issue. But the issue persisted despite using the replacement USB cable. Then they asked to send the camera back with warranty claim for repair or replacement.

I had to send the dashcam through courier. In 5 days, I received a replacement dashcam as they could not reproduce the issue in their service centre.

The replacement dashcam works flawlessly. I am surprised with the customer service of 70Mai's Indian dealer Nexdigitron but disappointed with 70Mai as the issue should not have occured in the first place.

I am attaching the video of the restart loop which I faced, in case someone is facing the same issue.

Overall, I love the quality of the videos- both front and rear. I have activated ADAS warning and I get a voice prompt everytime I change lane, the vehicle ahead slows, vehicle ahead starts moving.

Any reviews of Qubo dashcams? I am looking to get an inexpensive one with a reasonable quality video capture. How does this fare against the DDPAI. Both links under:

I thought I shall share a few shots from the recordings that may help some bhpian to make the right buying decision. These are with CPL filter accessory which helped to remove dashboard glare except for the white idol on the dashboard.

You may notice that the videos are slightly less bright. It is because I have not adjusted the exposure after installing the CPL filter. The dimmer videos did not bother me; it is not affecting details. I shall try keeping higher levels of exposure during the next road trip.

I'm really liking this cam!

In the below photo, I am driving between 80 and 85 kmph while the white Brezza was likely over 100kmh. With a delta of 20kmph, the number plate was still legible.

Below, the net speed of the two cars would be around 40-45 kmph. Still the number plates are pretty clear despite low lights.

Ideally, even the idol should not be visible on your windscreen. Apart from any striking lights on your dashboard, nothing else should be glaring on the screen. The VIOFO CPL works well on my car except for the ambient lighting.

Re: The Dashcam / Car Video Recorder (DVR) Thread

I Have an Dashcam on my Ford Aspire called B1W Blueskysea which I had brought it from the Ali-express days.
The camera though very basic creates some very good videos, I am not sure if this Model is still available now.
Some sample videos from some of the ooold videos can be viewed here.

(The first and only Video uploaded by me on Youtube ever!! - Cutting the videos and uploading them to Youtube was quite a challenge to me! - Though the videos are uploaded in HD - the videos in Youtube do not look as crisp as on my MPC-BE media player)

Re: The Dashcam / Car Video Recorder (DVR) Thread

Hey Folks,

I wanted some feedback regarding the Video Quality of the Viofo A229 Plus 2ch Dashcam i have with a CPL Filter. When stationary or at very slow speed, the Number Plate readability is good. However, at moderate moving speeds, it is blurry and am unable to figure out the numbers. Just wanted someone to take a look at the below 2 videos and confirm if this Video Quality is fine and normal for a Viofo Dash which has a Sony Starvis 2 sensor.

Few Images and Videos posted by few members above having Viofo Dashcams seem to have better clarity and readability to me.

Also, is any Imaging Software used to view Dashcam Videos for better clarity?

Wow! This is an issue? I thought its the power auto-cut feature.

I will raise a ticket too. Thank you.
