At 2.5K/pair I'd consider Blau's GT series and JBL CS series dont know how Pio compares at this price range but the Red Sony Xplods should be approaced with caution.

The rears are 6". The OEM fronts are probably smaller by the look of it - whatever can be seen through the slats. I haven't had the door panel opened to investigate.

@filcord, I'll be keenly observing your upgrade info - I would have almost exactly your specifications if and when I upgrade

I was thinking of replacing the rear speakers with a 6" co-axial JBL. Something with good bass and clear highs. I listen to jazz and Western classical. Would I get by with this or should I also replace the fronts? Again anything that needs no cutting or extra amplification or wiring.
I'm suspicious of Pioneer only because of the fakes floating in the market, hence JBL, as I think these are not yet being ripped off. Also they are specialist speaker makers.
And while at this could Sam pm me some authorised dealers in Goa?

Yes I'm having 6.5" JBL 606ce components in front but it requires little padding for perfect fitting....5.5" 506cce is a direct fit for Baleno...

BTW is there a budget. We here at ICE get really exicited when there is NO budget.
I have installed 6.5 comp in the front and modified the back to accomodate 6X9 oval in my baleno.

Does the JBL GTO637 6-1/2" (160mm) 3-Way Loudspeaker fit in the rear of the Baleno, without cutting of the board? How do I measure the physical dimensions required, can I measure the dia of the hole already there in the rear shelf? Please help.... inputs needed!

Yes the GTO637 is a direct fit on the board. No cutting required whatsoever.. Just plug and play..

Hi guys
I have just installed the JBL GTO637 3-way coaxials in place of the stock Kenwood rear speakers (Thanks angelfire for the help)
Installation was done quickly, and they fit in the same holes pre-cut in the shelf. So far they sound brilliant, a big difference from the regular speakers. Am now planning to replace the front ones too, may be with JBL 5 1/2 inch 2-way co-ax. Shuvc, I recommend this up-grade.
One question I have, how do I check if the polarity has been correctly observed in the connections?

bass response. opposite polarity will give you a significnat drop in the bass.

the guru is right.

I committed the same mistake. Rectified it. Bass was back.
If polarity is opposite .. there will be almost no bass.
