I have a question for the guru's here.! I have an NVX EQ7 LINK

I noticed it has an Speaker level input so i was wondering instead of using a LOC to add an amp, could i just by-pass that step and run it directly through a AMP? the car is for the ANHC FYI.

Thanks :D

I presume you mean you will connect the Equalizer to the Speaker Out of the HU, and connect the Front / Rear / Sub Out RCA of the Equalizer to the Amp. If so - yes, that is how it should be connected.

Thanks for the reply DerAlte.

Another question i have is how are EQ considered these days? reading on an old thread by LBM (LINK) i was wondering do they make a difference these with stock and non-stock HU's.

Thanks

The modern EQs using DSPs work wonders on the output of stock / OE HUs. Almost all stock HUs give an internal bias to match OE speakers. If one replaces OE speakers with aftermarket ones (which are far better than OE speakers), the bias will give an unnatural output. Many EQs first remove this bias before applying user preferred sound profile.

If you don't want to replace neither the OE HU nor OE speakers, then an external amplifier will give some improvement. An EQ wouldn't have much leeway to play with since the constraint would be the capability of the OE speakers.

With aftermarket HUs, the objective with an EQ is to tailor the sound to personal preference.
