Having not heard the MTX that would be unfair.

I suggest you listen to the 3 (Pio, Alpine and MTX) and choose.

The Alpines I have ehard (240, 340) sound sweeter than the Pioneers I have heard (6100, 944) but the Pioneers seem to have more grunt and manage subwoofers better. This is why I used a bridged Blau 275 for my sub and a sweeter amp for the front and rear.

Navinji... that too is in the past now... the current Alpines are edgier than the ones you mentioned...

Gunbir, I have heard that. That is why I qualify my posts using model numbers. McLaren better hang on to his 450! :-)

How much power do you need. with most speakers 50W rms /ch is adequate in a car givent that you have to pay some attention to the traffic.

I dont know. i dont keep track of post count. But now that you mention it is 4191 or something like that. BTW posts on certain forums (gadgets etc...) do not count but that dont stop me. post count is hardly my inspiration.

in fact I had suggested to the Mods that only posts on the true car forums be counted.

No sir, I am not pissed with you. For that matter, I never get pissed. I leave that to people who are best at it, and my experience has led me to believe that spouses (wives/ girlfriends, I am straight) are best at the job.

I have at no time compared either of these products.. read my first post AGAIN .. I wrote there and I quote "There was this time someone was trying to get me to buy one MTX over a Audison... I heard the MTX... and never went back to that shop!" ...
Well, the exact reason that caused me to get so alarmed was not that you were comparing two products or that you had a bad opinion about MTX. I ain't a big fan of MTX either, and find their product line average and mediocre. Matter of fact, they dropped several notches on my brand respect list when they unleashed the Jackhammer, and also went ahead to state that there is a SQ variant to the same. Same goes with Kicker and the sqaure solobarics. I used to quite like the original solobarics.

My only point was that various external factors were probably influencing your opinion of the MTX amp rather than the amp itself. If you disagree, I apologize for my outburst. Even if you agree, I still apologize for even giving you the impression that I was trying to behave like an egghead on here. So I hope that's sorted out. I did not mean anything wrong. I have full respect for everyone's opinion here, over and above mine too mostly.

Trust no further elaboration will be required!.. and that I have earned your complete pardon!
I already apologized, I believe. Cheers kb!
