Trust me, when this systems lets it rip... it DOES end up being a block party... |
Man, that Block Party is one rocker of a track. Beats most older Stereo Nation tracks hands down.

KB, in order to adhere to forum rules, we have decided not to put up any of our dealers installs as they will invariably incorporate brands and products that we represent.

Yup, cuz it isnt a Stereo Nation track. Its a DJ Sanj production (or whoever does it for him ;)), and Taz is only the vocalist on the track. They mention him as 'Stereo Nation' on the album cuz most janta knows him only as that...

Gunbir...
We know YOU exist... and we know which brands you represent... We cannot make out anything about the sq/spl/quality of your brands based on snaps... all we can see is the way they have been installed and the treatement given! ... How else do we learn of how installation techniques?? .. Forum rules say you cannot solicit business.. how can snaps be considered solicitation... especially considering the INSTALLATION is the only thing on display ? ... All we can attempt to do is copy it.. which does nothing to
your bottom line... please:
Please ... this cannot be considered advertising.. why dont you just blur the names out and post the pics?...
Did cartouch not post pictures of the RS?...everyone including Navin posted on that thread.. if it were against the rule surely he would have pointed it out! .. Has the JBL Palio not been features here??.. when did all this change???
Please.. equipment is only one half of the story -
knowing how the experts install them forms a bigger part of the education !! .. This should not be denied to us uninitiated!
Please shed some light -

Both Sam and I are in the same boat (picture that if you will :p). And we have agreed not to post any pics of our own brands.
This change has come about as TBHP is a non-profit site, and 'the powers that be' dont like any direct or indirect promotion that may happen on their site... I think Navinji has suitably explained this on another thread.
Can someone post approx prices of Pioneer indash DVD HU's??

Gives a whole new meaning to "Doob gaye"
1. I was under the impression that Cartouch was an installer and not a sole representative of any particular brand. Please correct me guys.
2. I much appreciate Sam's and Gunbir's efforts in this. I know how difficult it is. and believe me it was not just the ICE forum that forced these rules to harden. I love to see install photos as much as any true blooded Audio nut.
3. While many of us Oldies would know the brands Sam and Gunbir represent Newbies might not. Besides we have to make a common rule for all the professionals on ALL of TBHP.
4. My respect for Sam, Gunbir and their colleagues has gone up manyfold thanks to their unbridled support and excellent cooperation. I have met Sam exactly once and I mean
every word that is part of his current signature though Sam has knighted me of his own accord. Given this courtesy I can only assume Sam was wearing a disguise when I met him and he actually looks like
5. I have been tinkering with Audio equipment for over 35 years (Geez I am OLD!) having made my first Valve Radio in the early 70s and Kit Amp and Speakers a few years later (I was in 8th grade). I know how hard a business this is. Anyone who wants to make a living in Audio must be
Passionately Mad. This is especialy so for guys like Sam and Gunbir who being young enough to be part of the New Economy have decided to dedicate their energies to the betterment of Audio in India.

I used those terms becuase the origin of these terms were related to the sounds. Best of Breed is a term that first came to light during the making of Boeing's 7x7 series of airframes (RR, GE and Pratt and Whitney make the engines) but caught fire during the Telecom/Intenet boom.
Now lets back to the Kartik's Aveo install Issue.

Sir Navin
With the above in mind would you consider permitting snaps without any mention of brands.. as you said we oldies know.. and the noobies wont!
Will you be open to exploring some way we can depict and discuss installation methodology without it going against the spirit of the forum. I am afraid by not doing the
loss will be entirely ours - the very objective of audio evangelism will be effected! !! (imagine trying to walk someone thru the spare wheel well install for example!! - IN PROSE!)

I have no problem with any install being displayed except it must follow one guideline. The install
cannot show the brands of any components that is represented by the poster. For example Sam or Gunbir can show an install but I would prefer if if this photoshoped the brands they represent. Just like we photoshop out car number plates on another forum. For example if their installs show an Alpine HU or Pioneer HU it is fine but Hertz/JBL/Audison amp or speaker labels/logos must
not be readbale.
If however I get too many PMs complaing about abuse of this privilege I would not hesitate in revoking the privelege. The idea is to show the install and not give the Newbies a false sense that we are promoting one brand over another.

No. Sam knighted me. Only the Queen of England can do that so I was joking that maybe Sam was the Queen of England. It was a Joke! Sam is significantly better looking! :-) LOL

I should certainly hope so lol:
OT (!), but navin... wouldn't that stop people like Arush from displaying their works (of art)? I mean, considering he wholly owns and represents autopsyche, that would mean his is promoting his wares too right? Here I am not talking about all the aftermarket add-on's he installs on/in the cars, but the in-house bodykits and all done by him/his company.
Unless that if Arush struts his stuff on the forum, he needs to block/blur out his signature logo? Because, even if he does block out his logo, everyone would still know the car is done up by him right? So this restriction wouldn't really serve any purpose.
My personal opinion would be that the representers should be allowed to show their stuff, but under strict guidelines that they should not openly and balantly tell members to come to them to do business.
Godspeed.
Alok.
GREAT!!... So thats settled!!.. Gurus... please put up some snaps!
