This is bad news. Not only customers like me, but the company itself will lose a lot because of this racket. Perennial vigilance, and an active litigation team is just the start. I wonder if there is a possible permanent solution to counterfeiting? I guess tight control of the channel might be one way, for example, only authorized dealers whose names are published on the site can sell JBL products and rest all should be bought at own risk. That might severely limit the reach though. Any other ways? Sam, can you throw some light on how JBL tackles this? Without divulging any confidential info of course...

Adding For the wiring thing last week i saw two sets of JBL wiring and wasn't able to recognize which one was original and which was not. Its a serious problem for the brands as well as for customers.

There was a new JBL pack that was supposed to hit the market late last year or so. I saw one in a straight-forward tall and narrow blister pack (not a pouch) with a Sahil International import sticker on it, for about 3.5K with b&w. Looked genuine enough - no bells and whistles.

If you have already installed it, IMHO one cannot figure out whether it is original or fake. You can, of course, figure out from the packing that it came in.

Original Wiring Kit

This one is original.
Alert - Fake JBL products (Amps, Speakers, Subs...)-wiring-kit_front.jpeg

Every other JBL wire currently available is fake. Period.

I hope to have helped.

JBL wiring kits are sold in many countries, but not all. Sometimes as stand alone and sometimes as a package with a mono amplifier.

The item is called JBL Subconkit. Example: JBL SUBCONKIT Kabelset - Bilradiospesialisten - Kabelsett

OT:
Some products like the JBL 3-way power series components , Harman Kardon CA 470, etc. are sold only in select countries. I wonder why.
*Wish these were sold in the US*

Generally of poor finish, badly packed, poorly printed, at a very low price and available without bill.

Those are just basic alerts.
