Sam this is very much a original JBL Power Series amplifier, but an old model. Used couple of them in the past. This is a P-4020 2ch, also there was P-4040 4ch model.

This is a grey market product. It should not be sold with JBL bill & warranty.

.. BU fromt eh link Navin posted those amps look LOOooNG ... the snap that Sam has posted the amp look rather abreviateed! - So am inclined to think Sam is right...!1

That Orange of the logo also seems to have "Bled" badly.... you can see the runoffs clearly.. !

KB100,

The bigger picture on the owner manual is of P-4040 the 4 ch version, P-4020 2ch amp was smaller in size (194mm L vs 347 mm of 4040)

These amplifier were designed by Manny Rodriguez (Principal Design Engineer Power Amplifiers, Harman International)

He has designed products for Harman, Infinity, JBL, Alpine, Eclipse etc.

JB....

The P4020 was discontinued 5 or 6 years ago. And please look at the finish of the PARTICULAR amplifier i've shot. My point is very clear - there is STOCK of a badly finished P4020, this isn't one piece I'm talking about. There's retail quantities.

1. Sam represents JBL so I'm not inclined to bet against him when it comes to JBL products
2. No reputed manufacturer would sell such a shoddily made product as shown in Sam's photo. If they did they would not have much of a reputation anymore.
