Jp1 , among the blaus I think the Maui is the best buy, as far as i know, it's the only model they have that plays WMA (not a major req). The only sore point about the maui is it's looks, the silver band that goes around it looks a little flashy.
I'm not very sure about pure sound and clarity, could someone else who has had first hand exp please comment on this ?

BTW try Autoshop near the Honda two wheeler showroom in koramangala, the price he quoted for the Maui was 8,500 and i believe you could get a further 5% off.

Finally I went for Blau Monterrey + Aux in cable + Steering remote. All put together came to 11.6K. System sounds good, I dont have amp or woofer. I originally had a factory fitted 4 speaker system (I cant figure out the make) which I replaced with this model. Except for HU no, other change.

Awww, that's totally against the TBHP spirit. You just change your HU and say you're content with the sound?!? A Blau at that? Sinful!

Right now, this is what the economic balance of your system looks like. . . HU + Accessories = Rs. 11600/-, every other piece of audio equipment in the car besides that = Rs. 116/-

Not looking good. You need to take a cue from people like Kb100 around here.

Let us know what your bank balance looks like, and if it's anything positive, we'll help you worry about an overdraft on it!

B&T, got your point, but I drive very little and hardly have any time to listen music in the car and I listen to music at Home (Marantz digital amp+Polk audio speakers + polk sub woofer+Denon CD player+Pioneer tape deck+ worldspace) rather than in my car, hence I do not wanted to spend too much, but I may change other components in near future

jp1, what B&T meant to say is that a chain is only a strong as it's weakest link. using a 11K HU with 1K speakers (OEM speakers often are cheaper than that) is not preferable to say using a 7K HU with 4K speakers. You can leave the rear OEM speakers and just change the front.

Navin, thank you for your recommendation, any suggestion on front speakers?

Blau's ODx series is ok but i dont know if it still available. JBL's 607/637 are ok too as are Alpine Type S. Each of these will run you about 6K per pair. Dont know if other brands like Hertz have components in that price range.

Navin, thanks for your suggestions.

Willy, I got it from Autoshop Koramangala 7th block (near forum), somebody else also suggested this shop on this thread. Yes the price with B&W Monterrey is 9500 and I also purchased steering remote (1900) and Aux-in cable (600) and on all these he gave some discount and finally it came to 11.6k. tel no is 41104109, 25084567
