Car Audio set up for Palio 1.2

Hi Guys,
I am a new owner of a Palio 1.2 ELX NV.This is my first car too.
I plan to fit a music system in my car.My budget is around 15k.

I need your advise/suggestions to help me select.

1.Head-Unit
2.Front Speakers
3.Rear speakers (Oval or not?)
4.MDF Board (required or not?)
5.Components (This is of least priority since i feel adding this may go outside my budget)

I like the Pioneer head unit.In like the P5850 and P6850.Technically,what is the major difference between the two?

Among speakers, I have shorlisted JBL's.

Guys, your suggestions please.

Thanks

Well, since you have shortlisted JBL
For the Palio you can 5.25" Components for 5500/-
Rear speakers, you can use 5.25" coaxials for 3250/- OR of you don't intend to put in a subwoofer at any point you can put 6X9s (from 4 to 5K)
The balance you can put in your HU. I think everything should be done in about 16/17K

Technically, whats the difference between the two pioneer models.
I can add components later too (just to save few bucks )

Some days back, Carfreak had done a similar setup with a similar budget.
His setup:

HU: Pioneer 5850 (Grey 7300+/-)
Front: Hertz 5.25" DSK130 components. (B&W 5800)
Rear: Alpine 6X9" Ovals. (B&W 4000)
MDF tray was installed for ovals. (850)

I'd suggest getting ovals from Hertz too. You can get those for 4900+/-.

Yes, stretch the budget to 18-19 and get some good quality speakers rather than going for cheap quality ones.

as you can see , now you have two options! the jbl option looks cheaper and i suggest that you use the speakers wires taht come with it too.

damping teh doors would be a good idea. Stick with teh PIO 5 series as it cheaper. As Sam,pointed out 6x9 gives good bass and if you would be adding an amp later get this, but if its gonna be an amp + sub later on, get teh 5.25 co-ax for rear. Moreover, 5.25 avoids cutting of tray/ or need of MDF.

Carfreak is happy with his setup. I would suggest a setup where one use products of same family.

Carfreak is happy! But He didnt go for a setup where one use products of same family! Rather it's from 3 families: Pio HU, Hertz components & Alpine 6X9s.

There's a guy who changed his entire Blau Speakers (1 set of components, 1 set of ovals, 1 sub) just because his HU was ALPINE!! Now, he's planning to get LCDs from ALPINE only. Alpines are expensive and this guy dont have enough money to get them now. He's got 2 LCDs from Necvox as a gift but dont want to install those! And the reason he has to say is: 1 car, 1 brand!!

I dunno why, But I still can't understand this 1 family thingy!! Is it really a matter worth fretting for?

I cant agree here. I'm not sure what you mean here.

BTW, Sam! does JBL always measure their quality very strict? Some speakers I saw these days seems a bit out of place (Not what JBL speakers were supposed to be). Or any fakes coming thru??

Regardless of the price of a product, Harman QC is regarded as one of the best worldwide. it seems near impossible to have an original JBL product "a bit off"

Nice to hear that. I was almost thinking against JBL these days.

BTW, what is it with so many fake Kickers, JBLs, etc.. coming in? I know of a guy who stocks JBL originals and also has Kicker fakes. And a Kicker component costs only 4500/- Definitely fake!
