not yet decided, listened to JBL in demo set-up....must say its class!
the guy told me to go for JBL 301.1 mated to bass tube (a new concept for me altogether - SAM bhaiya would be in a better position to explain)
all I heard is subwoofers and thats it!

so the idea behind opening this thread was to get a fair idea from guru logs that what is better, a tube or subwoofer?? and if its tube, why i havent seen many people using it?

Panky not haveing specs at hand I would suggest you compare the 306C to the 306F. It might be that the 306F works better in a bandpass box.

uld prefer the second setup i.e. JBL 301.1 with JBL bass tube. Also you have the advantage of using two JBL CS1200T bass tubes with one single 301.1.

amit: is the tube called CS1200? wont it be better to mate 2 of them with 601.1?

but question is,

1. which one to prefer 1 or 2 in above?

2. which is better in JBL, subwoofers alone in a ported box or bass tube as a whole?

SAM bhaiya, where r u??

Ok then the bass tube is for who want a neat and clean install with all brand products and without getting in to the mess for making the enclousre....but the sub in a well desiged enclousre will any day perform better than the bass tube..........

thanks LBM. the guy i went to, told me that Indica has a lot of problem with rattling. It'll rattle like anything if you put in a pair of 306C with alpine 605. [sirdard free of cost] he wanted me to take a JBL CS1200 and JBL 301.1. guy seemed to be good, sachin of Car Man (courtsey Sam bhai). i just wanted to be sure before i go ahead.

I is here only. Reading from hyderabad.

Are you asking me which is betterm Tube or box?

If one was better than the other, we would not be making both! We would just make the better one.
2 different sounds. I use a bass tube in my lancer and I am satisfied with it. If I had a hatchback, i would have preferred a box, it's tight and nice. Hear both ad decide, simple. Sit in your car, wire a monoblock in, take the speaker wires out. Plug it into a box. Sit inside, liste. Plug in a tube then. Sit inside, listen to the same song.

What excites you more is the one you should buy.

Tight and Nice scores over Loose and Woolly. A tight and nice tube however would be best of both worlds as most tubes are lighter than boxes and hence easier to move in and out of the car.

sure LBM, i wd definitely look fwd to coming to FBD. IMO, you are one of the few actual audio enthusiasts in this forum, not associated with any brand, whatsoever. I respect your (and others as well) knowledge about car audio, which is purely aimed at helping others.

I consider the tubes give punchy output with no low_bass in them. but the box can go low when compared with a tube....I will consider a box anyday when compared with a tube.....
