Also mine is a Sony Xplode 12inch 1300w PMPO sub any idea what type it is ? I have put it in a ported box, here are the details of the sub:

About bass tubes, I'd heard that the best way to position them is to fire them toward a corner (preferable outer rear corner in the boot). Is this true?

hydrashok, Bass tubes are fundamentally not very different from regular subwoofer enclosures. Hence the same placement options should be considered. I would highly doubt that your formula would apply in all cars, although it did probably work best with the install(s) that you are referring to.
