Fair enough at 17k the JL, Kappa and Audison are also options.

The person I talked to is Andy Wehmeyer (see links)

You were very right about the polycab cables availability in TN. In fact I just came to know that my best friend is the main distributor for it in my area

Ok now which variant and what gauge of polycab cable do I need ? Also how many meters cable do I need for my install. Just tell on the higher side , I will get discounts for sure

Most of those guys there have their MS 1004 hooked to an MS 8 processor I believe. Maybe that's the reason why it's too good.

3) Infinity Kappa 4 - price 16k

4) Rainbow Dream 4 - 16k

5) Rainbow Beat 4 Black - 20k

6) Digital Designs A4 - 12.5k

7) Focal Solid 4 - 12k

8) Audison SR. 4 - 15k

9) Rockford Fosgate p400 - 20.5k

10) Kenwood Excelon x600f -17k

If you only have 2 amps SWG 4 is enough. If you want to be sure get SWG 2 but remember the thicker wire is also tougher to thread.

The MS8 is not a requirement.

I have listed my choices given the price points. I have not heard the MS but I would expect the SR4 to sound smoother in the mids and would not expect the Focal 4100 to be much better than the SR4. Hence my pick of these 4 would be the SR4 (spend the 6k saved on damping).

Expectations must be "managed" hence I prefer blind testing - listening with the ears not with the eyes.

Ok let me see what he has. Shall I order for 25-30 feet of power cables ?

The Seller increased the price of the SR4 to 18K , is it still worth that price , plus there is no bill nor warranty ?

And good news , I just received my Kenwood DDX 515 BTM .

What I liked about this receiver is that it has Air Mirroring for iPhones and Android mobiles , meaning you can see what is exactly on your mobile phones on your HU's screen and even control from the screen.

Another important advantage is you do not need an extra adaptor to connect to the steering wheel controls. It's direct plug and play for Hyundai vehicles .

It has all the regular stuffs like 7 band EQ , 4 Volt o/p and 3 pre outs.

The only thing I felt was missing was the 7 inch screen size but the model which had it was with a motorized face plate which I wasn't interested in getting as I feel those are not reliable in the long run.

I don't like to buy without a bill and a warranty. I know most times the product fails after the warranty period but with the bill at least the dealer has some moral obligation to serve you.

30 feet should be enough. Remember the cable has to snake through your car from the battery to the trunk.

What is Air Mirroring? is that via the Mobile High Definition Link?

With Air mirroring I can control my phone directly through the HU screen. It's especially useful when using our phone for navigation. The HU screen displays the exact map as seen on our mobile screen and we can control it then from HU screen itself. Yes it is used via MHL.

One cool thing is you can also use this feature wirelessly through wifi if you buy the optional Miracast dongle KCA WL 100.

BTW just received my Dampmat Exceed 9's. This thing is so heavy at 15 kilos.

My wife has an iPhone and a Sony 612BT in her car and I might need to tap your brains on how to get these two to work together.

Yes Dynamat is heavy as are all good damping sheets. One thing the added mass does it lower the resonance frequency of the panel they are stuck to to an area where the ear is less sensitive. The Human ear is most sensitive to the range between 200-3500Hz or so. Below and above that sensitivity reduces.

Unfortunately the 612BT is not compatible with iphones

You need to ask your wife to purchase the phones in the link below to make mirror Link work. Why would Sony ever neglect iphone and make this compatible with Nokia phones is beyond me ?

I think we have to download something called App remote.
http://download.sony-asia.com/consum...4476910511.pdf

Yeah it is weird to ignore an ecosystem as large as iphones.

Re: ICE'ing up my Hyundai Verna

Check any videos of the mirroring in this unit. In general this is still not matured, the screen will have lagging and resolution issues. Many are not using it eventhough they bought it for that. Not sure about this model though.

No, it is clearly mentioned that iphone does not support Mirrorlink. The app Remote will work only if your phone is compatible with your Sony HU. The only way you can make it work on iphone is if Sony updates the firmware on the HU to make iphones compatible. Let me try checking for related firmware updates.

Re: ICE'ing up my Hyundai Verna

Sorry for hijacking you thread , looking for some suggestions on the below combo .Looking to upgrade the subwoofer in my duster and almost decided on the below combination .

Digital designs AM1 with Rainbow DL-S12 . Will this gel well with rest of my set up which includes
Oem hu (will be upgrading to pioneer 2790 /5790) in a month or two .
Infinity kappa components and Polk rear coaxials powered by Acustika 90.4.

Sorry for the late reply and being the bearer of bad news. Sony has excluded iphone from the compatible list with your head unit. It does not support any iphones at all.

Navin might be the best person to answer this. Have you made the purchase yet ?
